This is a great effect that is easy to execute. It is very clever and is one of those tricks that
one would expect to find in an old magic book from a hundred years ago and I'm surprised that it is
not.
First off, the deck is ungimmicked and in the end when the cards are counted down to
the predicted number the spectator can hold the deck and do the counting themselves. After the
effect the deck could easily be used for any other effect.
The deck is genuinely shuffled
by the spectator, the only management you have to do as the magician is maybe ask them to cut the
cards or to shuffle again. So nothing suspicious. The only handling you have to do is remove the
cards from the box, spread the deck then put them back in the box. Simple.
You are provided
with two sets of the envelopes so you will have a set of backups and the prediction card with the
number. You will have to provide the playing card prediction yourself but who doesn't have extra
cards laying around?
I have done a lot of study on card at number effects. I have seen many
different methods and this is as simple as any but very clean in comparison to a lot of them.
It is in fact a very clean and simple effect to execute and very clear for the spectator to
follow. It is a fooler and I highly recommend it.
