Turner is an excellent mentalist. He's creative and seems like a nice guy. This is, by far, his
best lecture yet. There is a lot of stuff here to think about. That said, I do have to call him
out. When he does Fate CAN, his explanation is absolutely terrible. I hope that it's because he
just can't explain it well and not that he's trying to hide the ball to get people to buy his
monograph which contains the effect. In addition, Dan Harlan, usually so good at moderating these
lectures, does nothing to help. There is no way that Turner's explanation of the effect is clear
(just look at the number of comments from people who bought the lecture), but Dan is star struck,
asleep, or in the bathroom because he let it slide. Penguin Magic, here's a suggestion: If a
performer is going to give a half-baked explanation of an effect to shill his stuff (and there's
nothing fundamentally wrong with that), at least insure that the lecturer says up front that you
need to buy his book to fully understand an effect. Don't let it appear that he's explained an
effect when he hasn't. That is just frustrating and wastes people's time.
