Talk about rambling on about the same thing for 170 minutes. WOW I can't believe I stayed awake for
the whole thing. 170 min of my life I can't get back. I have been dabbling in hypnosis for a while
now and got nothing out of this lecture. If this is his stage show, I feel sorry for those that
paid for it. Sorry so negative. but if you don't believe me please buy!
He actually taught a lot of the inner workings of suggestion/hypnosis. What he didn't do was give you a step by step guide on hypnotizing people like you would find in the more classic texts on the subject. A lot of what is in the lecture makes a very abstract concept tangible. What is one of the things which is pointed out when learning hypnosis? To first go through the "process" first so that you can have a grasp of what's going on, mainly because the teacher of the material can't easily find words to explain it properly. What James did here is actually use words to explain the pinnings of suggestion/hypnosis. I mean, what he explains in the lecture he can explain to laypeople and they would very quickly grasp a lot of it (actually, he did pretty much just that on his tedX talk).
