Let me begin by saying that I own two split coins from another highly respected coin gaffer, and I
purchased the split coin by Roy Kueppers at the request of a friend, to be used by him.
Upon examining Roy's coin with said friend, and comparing it to the coins I own, I will say that
Mr. Kueppers' coin appeared impeccable! The only downside I noticed with Roy's coin (which has
absolutely nothing to do with his craftsmanship) is the Teflon discs applied to the gaff to ensure
smoother action. Neither of my coins sport this feature--the end result of which is a far more
deceptive looking coin upon cursory examination. My coins function and perform exquisitely without
this feature (as I assume Roy's coin would as well), so the discs could be removed at your
discretion, and even reapplied later if desired. Should you decide to purchase Roy's split coin,
and you discover this feature to be to your liking, I would suggest a simple switch to ensure a
thorough examination is possible at the conclusion of the effect. I even do this with my coins, as
I prefer not to take unnecessary risks.
Roy's item also comes with instructions for a
couple of routines to get you started with the coin. I can't comment on these routines since I
didn't take the time to look them over. All in all, I can solidly recommend Roy's split coin. The
price is right, the quality is superb, you get a couple of routines to boot (although it's not
difficult to create your own), the handling is pretty simple, and you can easily carry it with you
wherever you go. This is a really nice utility coin to own and genuinely fun to perform with. The
effects this coin allows can be quite devious, visual, and startling--you shouldn't underestimate
its value or potential. Try it, you'll like it!
