I've been a big fan of Richard Osterlind for many years. I have most of his DVDs, and they've been
excellent.
"Eerie" however, is his first DVD set that I am truly disappointed in. First of
all, the video is awful. The performances are shot in the semi-dark. I guess this effect makes them
all the more "eerie." I find it to be very annoying very quickly. The viewer is basically watching
an act performed by a bunch of shadows.
The dozen effects are, for the most part, rehashed
effects that Richard has performed on other DVD sets. There are, however, three effects that are of
interest to me as having some potential. The remaining nine I find to be weak.
I will
continue to purchase Richard's DVDs in the future hoping they are once again up to his normal
standards.
