This is one of my favorite ideas from Ben Harris. A gimmick that is examinable is a rare thing in magic. You are completely clean at the end, at the beginning, and whenever the spectator says "Hey let me see that card" And you don't have to worry about any thread hookups. There really is nothing to find from a practical perspective. They'll think you're using static electricity.
