I didn't know what to expect--or take away--from a lecture by two time-travelling Victorian
magicians. After watching this download straight through in enthralled silence, I can unequivocally
say that these two guys are geniuses, and it's easy to see all the high ratings.
Of
course, you aren't going to copy them, but their small lessons in method, character, acting, and
stagecraft are peerless, little wonder from two Oxford-educated former science teachers. It's all
very logical and concisely laid out. (They even have PowerPoint to emphasize their points!) Like all
of the world's best mentalists, you might be surprised to see that the methods themselves are
simple, sometimes very simple, but have tremendous impact. Their work on two-person coding, for
those who do it, is off-the-chart great. I can't wait to watch this again with notebook and pen in
hand.
In summary, I'd love to see these guys live on stage. They are smart, funny,
charming friends who just happen to be the best mentalists--time-travelling, Victorian, or
otherwise--around.
