Pros: Not a high quality video, but steady camera work and an understandable sound track. An
interesting combination of moves and subtleties from various sources, reasonable well referenced,
makes this a starting point, but..
Cons: My opinion only but in it's present form, this is
not a "worker." Where one might expect a series of effects or perhaps a full story ala "Sam the
Bellhop," this does not fulfill that expectation. As performed, the routine is jerky, with too many
stop, reset (move cards around), starts and repetitions that qualify as "once is interesting, but
four times is pedantic;" for instance the use of Yedid's Faro Flourish (and the line that goes with
it..). Worse yet, the premise of a Poker game is negated by the use of four cards per hand without
any back story or explanation. Even the final reveal is just more and more of the same and the
audience is way ahead of you by the time you are done. As a reference piece, comparatively I would
equate it to many of the other offerings here at Penguin at 1/3 (to perhaps up to 2/3) the price.
