I'm disappointed with the Kreis magnetic half dollars. Based on the video on the Penguin Magic
website, I bought two of them, and they are quite strong magnets. Unfortunately, they do not stand
up to inspection. Any casual observer can see that the coins have been modified. This was not clear
from the info on the website.
Years ago, when Pat Mollo was making special coins, he
produced very high quality pieces. His coins were great, and easily passed inspection. The ones
I've received are ok for some uses, but need to be switched out -- they can't be shown.
I
don't think the website information about this product is clear enough (and might even be
characterized as misleading). I think the product should be accurately described, and should help
customers by clearly stating the limitations of these coins.
