I'm so glad that Penguin decided to get Takamiz to do a lecture on cube magic being the originator
of the one hand technique and inspiring so many cube effects and performances.
Firstly if
you don't own "The Cube" which was released in 2013 and details his one hand technique then this is
covered in detail including some effects in the first hour or so (This is so versatile and can be
used for so many different effects). Takamiz has a translator and Dan Harlan chips in every now and
then so this is easy to follow (This is the technique Steven Brundage used on his viral video of
being pulled over by the cops....he subsequently went on to release Cube3 which is based on
Takamitsu's technique) albeit the crediting/permission was somewhat lacking IMO.
The figure
change (Shape Change) is a really surprising effect for the spectator as they have examined
everything - this is brilliant thinking and can be used for any object really.
Your
dominant hand is again another neat effect which really requires you to be seated, so not so much a
close up effect, but again it shows how versatile his technique is where the spectator solves the
cube.
Cube through table is a great effect which is enhanced by the fact the spectator
signs both cubes which makes this super strong and impossible!
I really love one color cube
- so strong and powerful!
This lecture has my highest recommendation, anyone serious about
cube magic needs to see this - it's so inspiring and will get you thinking about your cube act!
