I admit after I bought this it went into my drawer for a long while. I pulled it out a couple times
and verified it was still working but never really carried it.
After about 9 months or so
of owning it, I pulled it out of the special box it comes in and it was no longer working. I
expected this may be due to the charge being gone no big deal. I plugged it in to charge and it
never took the charge, I left it in over night and nothing...
I noticed that while the pen
is plugged in, it still works, but soon as I unplug it, it will not work any longer. This is
obviously an issue if you want to use it :)
So I contacted Alan Wong to see if he offers
any repair tips or can do a repair on it. No answer... I sent a couple follow up emails and still
nothing.
So I just ordered the "Amazing Sharpie Pen" as a replacement... hopefully this
one will be of better quality. Its a shame the pen I have cannot be repaired as it seems everything
was put together and then glued... likely a connection to the battery is an issue and could easily
be fixed if it was not designed to be unrepairable.
Alright so here is the update. I went ahead and ordered the amazing sharpie which offers the same functionality because my flash pen was broken. Man you never know what you had until its gone... the Amazing Sharpie is terrible quality in comparison... my sharpie bulges and has a crack in the plastic pen casing even... the button is in an awkward place.. the only thing better about the amazing sharpie is you can write with it, but thats not worth the downgrade...
Anyways I wrote Alan Wong and he didnt get back to me for a long time as mentioned, however he finally DID reply as I guess he was not getting his emails over the holidays.
To make a long story less long... Alan has no more pens in stock but offered me something else to replace it. Great guy! great products. I feel bad for my last review, its really a 5 star product when its working. I just had a bad experience maybe.
