Okay, so there is no double backer or blank-faced card, but neither does Bicycle. I'm sure everyone
has a million bicycle decks laying around without complaining.
Honestly, these are some of
the nicest cards I've handled in a long time. My go-to "designer" deck is Monarchs. These almost
as good. I say almost because they don't fan quite as well, or maybe they just don't look as good
with the black on white contrast. However, it's been a couple months since I purchased this, and
I'm still using the same deck that I opened when I first purchased the brick. Usually, I would have
gone through two or three Monarchs by then.
The back design of the cards is very elegant,
and it conveys a "minimalist" look. They faro right out of the box perfectly, and have the other
thousand times I've faroed the deck. The edges are not frayed or discolored.
The faces are
not the generic card faces, but the fonts are a little sharper and thinner, more modern looking in
my opinion, but with keeping the same traditional style in mind. The finish of the cards look like
linen, which adds a nice character to the deck when viewed much closer.
The tuck box is
great! I love the silver. It draws attention but it's not overbearing.
I bought this on
sale for half off, and I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm confident that these decks will last me
a lot longer than I thought.
