This is a great close-up mat! It has plenty of cushion for card and coin work. The top surface is smooth, and the bottom is rubber to keep the mat from sliding. Penguin shipped it to flat (as opposed to rolling it up in a tube), and this meant it arrived without any curves or creases to sort out.
