There are some great routines in this volume. Some of them you can probably do with a few minutes of
practice. Some of them you'll need to plan on a good bit of work. Bill Malone's "Of Course I Can
Deal a Good Poker Hand" is a masterpiece, but I would say you are looking at a lot of practice
unless you're already proficient with cards. There are two routines on here that are practically
identical, one by Harry Lorayne and another by Marc Desouza. Lorayne's routine is probably one of
the more famous ones and I like it, but I have to say Marc takes it a step further with a nice
little kicker ending. Unfortunately, with both on one volume it seems like you're losing a trick but
both have their merits. The final two effects are Steve Forte poker deals and deserve some study.
As with most gambling effects, you'll need to be at a table to make these work. There are
no stand-up effects here, and I'm not sure you could adapt any of them to that. But if you are just
wanting to add a good gambling routine to your arsenal, there are some great choices here.
