Holy crap! I just memorized the entire Mnemonica stack while working on my computer (watching Rick's video in a small window)!

In less than 90 minutes and with no pain whatsoever, Rick has singlehandedly upped my magic game to a whole new level. Everyone knows that Juan Tamariz is a genius... but when he gave the world Mnemonica deck, it divided the magic world in two... those who can and those who can't use it. Even professionals like Justin Flom couldn't handle it well.

Thanks to Rick, learning the deck is EASY and literally almost INSTANTANEOUS. Seriously... this is absolutely a must-have. I'll give you an example right now... as I am typing this, I'm going to, off the top of my head and with no forethought tell you a card and where it is in the stack, as well as tell you what card is at a specific place... I promise, this is not thought of in advance... I'm writing as I think. Ok, here we go....

Rick does a fantastic job of teaching and Jamar's drawings (the same guy who does all the drawings for Penguin) really help us visualize the memorization aids.

If anyone is a fan of the show "The Office", Michael Scott uses the same type of memory aids. Offensive, but it works. haha!

Rick's method is not new... I learned this method years ago when Kevin Trudeau taught it in his Mega-Memory course. (I didn't have the whole course... but I did have a cassette tape that was like a free sample. Yes, cassette tape. If you don't know what that is, ask your parents.) But I didn't really use this method much. Now, I kick myself that, after all these years, I didn't use it more.

Thank you Rick for this. This is a significant, influential, mile-marking product. I mean that with zero exaggeration. Awesome stuff! You're my hero. Change your address, because I'm guessing that there are now some high level pro magicians who will want to make you disappear aftr leveling the playing field by putting Mnemonica within reach for everyone magician.

This product retails for $40. You can get it for $20. I would easily pay $80 without a second thought, being that it makes so much different to my magic skills. I'm just learning... but this opens a whole new world of Mnemonica to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you Rick!!!

While the concept that drives this video is great, unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to grasp everything on the first sit through of the video, so I needed repeated watchings of the video. This is where the shine started to fade rapidly. Repeated watchings made learning the system increasingly difficult because of the sheer amount of talking unrelated to learning his system of images interfered and distracted from the focus of learning.

What I mean by all of this is that a lot of the time spent justifying why one should keep working on this after every 5 or so cards, explaining how and/or why this particular system works (again, after every 5 or so cards), or why the Mnemonica stack is worth learning (yup, after every 5 or so cards) could have been spent quizzing--instead, after a few words of encouragement (helpful), I'm being given a sales pitch for this memorization system as late as 40 cards in (very unhelpful--there's no need to keep selling this to me for minutes on end after every 5 or so cards because, frankly, I've already purchased the video).

For example, after 40 cards in, why am I being given essentially a sales speech for this download again? When I'm asked only a few cards later to leave a review, all I can honestly remember is

I would encourage a re-shoot of this video, paying more attention to those elements that undermine the learning, to trim the excess, and better structure it to enhance the learning process. I do believe in this system, and I'm still working on it, but I think the teaching of the system could use a good look to really make this as beneficial as Rick says it can be, and also to put it on par with the quality of the teaching found in more well-produced Penguin downloads at this price--and then I would be happy to give this 5 stars.

This system is probably great for the US magician. However, as an English man it contains far too many references to American events and people. I've had to invent my own system. Which means a wasted $20 There should have been mention of this on the site I believe.

Most of all the ‘other’ memory systems out there are either too difficult, too complex or it takes such a long time to learn that you virtually give up - very frustrating. Thank you Rick for sharing this system, you are a genius! This is one of the most powerful learning systems I have ever encountered in all the years (too many to mention) that I have been performing. I actually learned the first part of the system in under 4 minutes - wow. If you ever had a fear of memory systems or tried it and failed, fear no more as Rick walks you step by step through this amazing training video. It is so unique that you will certainly have fun and be entertained while you are leaning it, very different indeed. It’s about 90 minutes long so you really get your moneys worth, nothing is left undone, no stone unturned, nothing left to ponder about, this IS the system to buy. There is no way possible that any spectator or magician for that matter will know how it’s done other than to believe that you have performed a virtual miracle. This is without a doubt the most important download penguin has ever put out. I've been struggling for years to memorize a deck and never got anywhere. I've tried a lot of the stuff from Mneumonica. I've tried a bunch of stuff Simon Aronson recommended. I've spent forever trying to work on memorizing a deck based on a memory palace but I changed my mind as to what system to use way too many times so I never even completed making my system.

But now, here I am. I just finished watching the video yesterday. Penguin just uploaded the accompanying PDF (with some bad mistakes in the text underneath a few of them. Somebody really should have reviewed the text at least one time. The pictures are all correct so its obvious when the text is completely describing the wrong thing) and now here I am. I put in under 2 hours practicing and reviewing so far and I'm already correct about 95% of the time and I assume by tomorrow I should be at 100%.I never dreamed it would be possible to memorize a deck this fast. I wish this would have came out years ago. Now I just have to go back and find all those tricks I couldn't do because I couldn't memorize a deck....

When you are ready to make a move into a mem deck. Mnemonica is a brilliant one to learn, as it is so versatile. I have been using Mnemonica for more than 10 years now and if Rick Lax had come up with this most brilliant system for learning a stack I could say I have been using Mnemonica for 12 years.
Why is his system so damn good? Well Rick creates a very easy set of mental pictures to see in your minds eye for only 13 cards, any one will be able to remember that and then Rick will walk you through rest of his system.
WIth very little effort on your behalf you will be on the road to using Mnemonica and the power that has.
Really, your audience will be baffled and blown away with what you can do with this type of work.
This stuff works, I now do memory displays in my work and I use the same style of memorising tools to remember words from the audience. It Works!
I cannot recommend this learning system of Rick high enough.
The video is easy to hear and RIck as always speaks very clearly.

I couldn't believe how much I remembered after just one viewing. The video is 90 minutes, which is a bit long, but you will have a tool that many magicians have struggled to master. I had a similar memory system I created myself for another stack that I am scrapping because Rick Lax did such a great job creating crazy visuals that are so hard to forget. This will take some work to master, but Rick has made it easier than ever before. This is the best way to memorize a stack.
