The cards are what I expected. So, kudos for that. But, I should have looked more closely, as I
assumed that it's standard for gimmicked decks to come with at least one routine...or at least an
opportunity to share ideas with others who have made the same purchase. Nope, not with this purchase
(i.e., there is no discussion button in the MyPenguinMagic section so that our community can share
ideas). The only recourse is to lay out another $15.40 to purchase a hard copy of ideas for the
cards. Caveat emptor!

You can take so many of the sleights/routines you already know and punch them up with this deck. As
they point out in the effect book that is also available, many people just don't "know" cards any
more, i.e. may say something like "it was the J of curvy things," etc.
Since it is no
secret that these are letter cards, it would have been nice for them to have described the deck more
thoroughly, so I will here: You get 1 ea of: Z, X, and Q. You get 3 ea of: A, E, and T. You get 2
ea of the remaining letters, with a YES and a NO card taking the usual Joker spots, all marked with
a variant of Phill Smith's fantastic Optical Marking System. Until you know it, it is invisible;
once you know it, you can read it across the table.
Recommendation: Start with a routine
that savea the fact that they are letter cards for the reveal. Since the time I started doing that,
I get gasps just from turning over the cards the first time because people have created a regular
deck of cards in their minds eye.

The cards are great and I like that it isn’t just two of each letter in Thebes alphabet. The box
design is nice and once you see the m***s you can’t unsee them. This is a great step for letter
decks and they have a lot of potential. Two issues: the first is that, if you’ve never used a letter
deck you really won’t have much clue what to do with the deck...meaning you’ll have to fork out
another $20+ for the Passport to alphas book. Second is the price of the deck itself. These are flat
out expensive. The box is nice, but I’d have rather a simpler box and a price that’s $5 lower. I’m
looking forward to performing more with these and hope they won’t wear out too quickly, because at
$20 US (which is almost $30 Canadian), i certainly can’t afford to replace them very often.

This is my new go to effect! If you want to blow minds, and really leave an impression with your
audience, then stop reading this review and buy this now! It's unique, and is truly a reputation
maker. Every time I perform this, the spectator wants to take a photo with their phone. It's like
having a business card on their phone now. The next time they are looking for entertainment, they
will sure call you!
This is a lasting memory that they will show and talk about you to all of
their family and friends. Trust me, once you perform this, you will never leave home without it!

I can't recommend these enough. The OMS is the greatest thing to happen to card magic in my opinion,
and now you can do it with letters! I've used these for "serious" name reveals as well as for "funny
magic". You cannot go wrong with these cards.
Get them before they sell out.

its a cool idea , and wonderful
The time and work that went into designing the deck is obvious. However I try to stick with tricks
I can do with the tried and true "bikes". People recognize that card back. I'm still trying to
work the alphas into my set, but I've been using bikes for so long I don't know if the alphas will
ever become my go-to deck. And the methods for doing the tricks in the passport book are somewhat
awkward. Maybe after some time I'll get used to them. Something more my style would be to force
out 3 cards and they turn out to be the initials of someone in the audience; someone of some
significance, the birthday boy or girl, etc. The tricks in the passport will take me some time to
develop into my routine.

when I first bought these, I thought that they were just going to be a regular alphabet deck, albeit
marked but I was wrong. the amount of thought put into the creation of these cards is stunning- you
can spell practically any word you can think of and the potential of such a deck is limitless. if
you want meaningful and impactful card magic, this is for you. after using alphas all I can say is
that i'm never going back to regular playing cards.
their also perfect for my mentalism &
séance work. When introducing them sometimes I claim that they were used in parapsychology tests
dealing with spirit communication/and or telepathy- just as a fun presentational touch. be creative,
the skies the limit!
