I hate deceptive advertising. In the trailer Rick clearly says:
"When someone names a
card, that card they named will be in the poker hand ..."
THIS IS NOT TRUE. It is one
outcome (not even the most likely outcome).
What he described would be a miracle. It's
not in the written description perhaps because he hopes we will forget what he promised in the
trailer.
I am not saying this is a bad trick. I actually may have even purchased it if
correctly described.
I just feel he doesn't need to outright lie about what the effect is.

I respect Rick Lax as a creator and took a chance on this due to his creativity. This is a great
idea, but in application, just an average effect. The special something on the cards was weak and
needed fixed by me upon opening. This is a decision based effect and awkward in the handling. Not
sure how this could be improved, but for my money, the BrainWave by Max Maven is only way to go.
Nice attempt at a newer “brainwave” type effect by Mr. Lax, but this is not practical for me and
fell short.

There is a major trapdoor to this presentation that is not mentioned or hinted at in the video which
makes this trick unsatisfying. An Invisible Deck would give you the same effect without this
needlessly crutchy-looking crutch that gets whipped out at the end of the trick half the time. I am
a big fan of Mr. Lax and have purchased many of his tricks. The use of the phrase "any" in this
video is not untrue but is highly misleading when it comes to the overall effectiveness of the
trick.

It’s difficult to say much about this trick without giving away part of the secret, but suffice it
to say, these cards are gaffed in an absolutely incredible way. The spectator really can name any
card in the deck and it’s the only face up card in a hand of poker and it has a different colored
back!
I don’t usually do “packet tricks”, but I WILL perform this one! I’ve always thought
it was strange to pull a few cards out of a cheap plastic wallet and do a trick with them. I just
feel like that puts a lot of heat on the cards.
But with The Only Card that Matters, it’s
presented as a prediction trick and it makes perfect sense to have a prediction isolated in a
simple, clean white envelope.
It’s important to note, the spectators can not examine the
cards. But if someone asks me to see the rest of the cards, I’ll hold them to my chest and say, “You
obviously don’t play poker much. Any good player knows not to tip his hand.” And then I’d slip the
cards back into the envelope as I remind them that they had a free choice of any card in the deck,
but I correctly predicted exactly which card they would choose.
Rick is one of this
generation’s best creators of magic and he really lived up to that title with this elegant creation.
Thank you, Rick, for the countless hours that you obviously put into this effect! What a marvelous
payoff!

I rarely write reviews as in my opinion by their very nature, a review is simply an opinion and
others may have differing views. I was disappointed with this trick. As others have mentioned, the
“something” on the cards is not adequate and needed to be strengthened. The thickness of the packet
is also a dead giveaway as to the method. Sorry, but not something I’ll be using.

Hello Rick,
You definitely have a winner here. The "higher by one"
out is brilliant!
My only drawback is that several of the cards sent do
not adhere face-to-face properly.
I have sent an e-mail to Acar asking for help.
Thank you for your effort in behalf of
us all.

I honestly think this has advanced the method with the cards included. Why I like it: it's compact,
what you see is what you get, fairly straightforward.
Why I don't: The plot has holes in it with
having a poker hand be any part of it.
3.5 stars. If you like what you see in the trailer, for
sure get it.

Holy-moly …
This is totally amazing! Rick is very well known for his very unique and
ingenious magic, now add some help from Justin Flom into the mix creating this outstanding minor
miracle. This effect incorporates a number of different principles from a few well know tricks
intertwined with each other. You will receive everything you need to perform this seemingly
impossible card prediction - ready to go once you receive it … with some practice of course.
There is no force and other than mentioned in the trailer, the spectator can pick any card they
want except for the Ace - ‘cuz that one is way to obvious'. As usual, Rick does an incredible job of
teaching you this trick as well as discussing all the scripting and nuances you will need to perfect
the presentation.
Very well though out and clever, you will love it. This is going into my
wallet ASAP so I will be ready to start performing it everywhere I go. Totally recommended.

This is a great packet trick especially for someone like me who does not do packet tricks. The
routine is very easy to learn, the gaffs make it even easier and takes away a ton of the mental work
that would be involved in tricks with the same kind of method like ID, and the envelope with the
extra out is a simple but huge improvement on the faux-leather wallets. The poker-hand concept is a
great justification and very interesting for patter. BUT I do wish it was examinable, if only the
face up card and, as far as, the R&S, I'm not sure if it's just the one I got, a problem overall, or
if I just haven't handled an ID in a long time, but the R&S isn't very reliable. You might be
flashing another card too often for you to be comfortable performing it.

If you’re familiar with Kollasal Killer, then you are familiar with the workings of this trick. It’s
part B’wave, part Kollasal Killer. I wanted to know if all 52 cards could be done with this small
packet, yes and no. 48 cards, no aces. This is easily explained “don’t pick an obvious card like an
ace”
This familiar with the “wrong” ending with Kollasal Killer, Rick Lac has an alternate
and better wording which I like much better.
I don’t have my cards yet, but from watching
the video, I believe you could keep this in your wallet.
It really is all self contained
in that small envelope. 48 options.
