I have a collection of inexpensive Miser's Dream buckets and instructional DVDs (Capehart, Levent,
etc.) detailing this wonderful effect. But my amateur/hobbyist "style" -and with the limited time
that I have to practice- works best when I can find good entertaining routines that are also not too
complicated to perform. That's so I can focus on having fun with my audience- whether it be with
kids or adults.
This Miser's Dream DVD routine by Robert Baxt fits my criteria exactly for
the limited children's programs that I do. It is fun, uses an audience helper in a good way, and
virtually has no set up. I (hate to admit it) right now am learning the routine on the DVD exactly
the the same way Baxt does it, maybe add more more of my patter lines later.
I grade
products first and foremost on "useability"- this DVD is not exactly rocket science or the
historical masterpieces the Levent DVDs are. But it simply fits exactly for what I enjoy doing. A+
and thanks to Robert Baxt (a fine entertainer) for sharing one of his favorite routines with us all.
I have many DVDs that I have watched once and never watch again, this definately is not one of
those.

Have performed Miser's Dream for years but Bob's creativity and ideas have put a whole new spin on
my presentation. Excellent DVD that no one should be without if you're serious about this grand,
old illusion.

I recently purchase Baxt, a Boy and a Bucket and all I can say is awesome. I performed the routine
this past weekend and received a great reaction. It's very easy and FUN to perform! The focus is
not on making the coin vanish or fall in the bucket (although he shares simple and effective ways to
do that), but instead on providing a routine that they kids LOVE.
Baxt's routine has
inspiration from Al Flosso. What more can you say? Al Flosso and Miser's Dream - you know this is
a winner. Baxt takes many of Flosso's ideas and makes them relevant and acceptable for today.
The reaction of the child blowing coins into the bucket, or the simplicity of a coin from the
ear, generate laughs and "what the?" responses. I had fun with this routine and I know you will
too!
Oh, and this DVD is more than the routine. Baxt share his knowledge how-to be you --
that is, create a magical routine with your personality, not a copy of someone else.
I've seen many Miser's Dream routines, and few, if any are as entertaining as this one.
I highly recommend Baxt's Miser's Dream DVD - Baxt, A Boy, & A Bucket.

The routine is simple but makes good fun. I think this is a great place to start if you want to
learn a misers dream routine.

This video was exactly what I was hoping for. Those who bash either the simpler content or the less
than stellar quality of the video, miss the point. Anyone who wants to add 5 minutes or so of
entertaining and adaptable magic to their act would not be disappointed. Thank you, Baxt.
