"Nico's magic is a reflection of perseverance, simplicity, beauty and good taste. And "Five acts" is a perfect example of that. I love it!" - Dani DaOrtiz

"I met Nico for the first time at the FFFF Convention in 2019 and we stayed up almost all night sharing ideas. It is obvious when you meet Nico that he is passionate about his magic and it shows in his performances. In "Five Acts" Nico has taken a simple idea in card magic and created a strong routine around it. The teaching of the routine is very well done and I believe that "Five Acts" is a worthy addition to have in your arsenal." - Gary Plants

"Nicolas Pierri's offering to the community provides a fresh take on a classic plot with simple and approachable methodology. If you can remember a script, you can perform this effect." - Christopher James Rose

"Nico is that rare magician...with original magic as ingenious as it is entertaining, and as heartfelt as it is fooling. I love watching him work...for real people, especially. They LOVE his poetic brand of magic. And when it comes to his faro work...watch out! He’ll fry any magician - I’ve seen him smoke roomfuls - and it’s entertaining to boot!" - Will Fern

Latin American FISM Prize winner Nicolas Pierri presents a fun and easy to do card trick where the audience loses their own card in the deck before finding it themselves in The Five Acts. This easy to do card trick is deeply fooling with a presentation that has comedy built into it’s psychology.

Here’s what happens:

1. The spectator freely shuffles the deck,
2. and then select any card they want.
3. The card is lost in the deck
4. then cut three ways and reassembled by the spectator.
5. A second spectator names a number, which they then deal down to and find the selected card.

There really are no gaffs, and this can be performed with a borrowed shuffled deck that doesn’t even need to have all the cards! In addition to teach a variety of handlings Nico goes into his philosophy around not just how this effect is constructed, but the symbology he has infused into the routine. Grab a deck and prepare yourself to perform The Five Acts.

A self working Miracle Report this review

First, you are not buying this trick for the method or to fool Magicians. You are buying this Trick for the Presentation. This is a self working effect (based on an old method) that will fry lay people. The Method is well hidden inside a well constructed Routine. I love the fact that it can be done with a Shuffled Borrowed Deck and the deck doesn't even need to be complete. Presented properly this will amaze and entertain your spectators. It will be nice to get a rest from doing Sleight of Hand or Mem Deck calculations and do a self working trick for a change.

Old idea, lots of talking Report this review

I took a shot at this because it was inexpensive and got some fairly positive reviews. I was disappointed because it's an old and pretty basic effect, but dressed up with an elaborate story line. Pierri was a bit hard to understand sometimes. The card handling should be familiar to anyone who does card magic. Having said this, his explanation and demonstration might be helpful to someone new to the art.

This really worth the price. Nice presentation idea, you'll learn a control variation, and a false cut. For beginners, this is a great deal, but advanced magician may benefit from it too.

Another Hit for Nico. Report this review

This is a great effect to show or a group and get more people involved. The uncut "full effect" is a hair over 3 mins. I have several effects by Nicolas (as well as his book of the Faro Shuffle) and this is another great addition from a rising star in magic.

More Proof It Pays To Read Your Classics! Report this review

Chapter IX of Greater Magic is titled "OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLES." The basis of this chapter was to show how in 1938, there was work being done updating solid effects by changing dated presentations, and using improved methods.
Nico Perrri is a young magician whose technical abilities are beyond contestation. And yet, he has has taken this simple, elegant method, and layered it with nuance and finesse.
Even if you are familiar with the modus operandi of The Five Acts, Nico's textured subtitles will draw you in and when all is said and done leave you fooled. An excellent effect that can be performed under any condition with and ordinary pack of cards.

Although I correctly surmised the technique at play here, This handling is superb.
The multiple Acts provides a layering the helps to obscure the secret and builds very nicely, leading the spectator on an adventure.
I was NOT at all disappointed with this and have added it to my list of “favorite effects”. Truly impromptu and not difficult for someone with even a little experience with card magic.

Great trick for beginners and advanced magicians Report this review

First of all, I love South American magicians, they put a lot of effort and thoughts in the magic they create. With that being said, the trick itself is not outstanding, I just don't like the effect and the presentation so much... but the ideas that Nico gives plus a really good card control and some interesting subtleties make this a must buy...even if you consider yourself a seasoned magician.

Great Trick Report this review

I gave it a 5 but thought strongly about dropping it to a 4 for 1 reason. He did everything he could to make a 15 minute explanation into a 30 minute one. I wish creators would get on with the trick and explanation and leave out all the "don't do this" and "first I tried this but it didn't work well".
With that being said I went with the 5 because the actual effect is perfect. Well within every ones grasp and very well thought out. It is pretty much an any card at number called for that can be performed impromptu with a borrowed shuffled deck. And it is easy enough for a novice to perfect.

Worth Three Times the Price! Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on August 28th, 2020
Yes, it's just another ACAAN! But, it is a good one and worth the price. But...

Learning Pierri's card controls are also worth the price...

And, learning a great example of the difference between 'doing a trick' and giving a Performance, is also worth the price...

Soooo... there you go! Three times the value for just a few bucks :-D
