Offbeat doesn’t even begin to describe this crazy multiphase rubber band effect. Pass a rubber band through your neck. Toss it back around your throat. Rip it back off and hand it out for examination. This effect is for the rubber band magician with a wicked sense of humor. This is Protect Your Neck by Joe Rindfleisch.

Here’s what happens:

The performer removes a rubberband from their wrist and stretches it behind their neck. Impossibly they pull the rubber band all the way through their neck. Next, in a highly visual moment, the rubber band is tossed and appears wrapped completely around the performer’s neck. The rubber band is pulled back through the neck again, and then impossibly tossed back around the neck for a final time.

In addition to the main effect, you will also learn Joe’s no-setup version, the Rubber Necking penetration, and a visual penetration courtesy of Dr. Cyril Thomas. Like all of Joe’s rubber band projects, this is packed with extra methods, routines, and variations that will have you pulling rubber bands through your neck all day long. Grab your rubber bands and Protect Your Neck.

Yikes, Worst angles I've ever seen Report this review

Yeah so angles are really bad, I mean really battle, like not 260 or even 180 where you can't go behind the magician, but like 20 degrees for the angle.

It's basically a webcam only magic where you do in front of a camera. expect its advertised as like walk around! He literally says you can do it like walking up to a group of friends, but you can't due to the angles it has to be like one and one (like in front of a camera with still lots of practice to make sure your angles don't slip).

In the video it does show the side angles, but its shot in the dark so you cant see the sides, and unless you have a $1000 lighting system and a cameras to preform this trick it won't be worth your time.

I don't recommend ;earning or buying this trick. I mean I am lazy writing review, but this trick is so bad hoping this review wills help people from wasting their time with it, or at least knowing what to expect.

OK full disclosure .....I was fortunate enough to watch and learn this from Joe a long time ago when he was first developing it. So I am bias in the sense that I have been playing with this for a while and had a chance to use it in different situations and discover where it works best. What makes this trick so awesome is that it catches the spectators totally off guard and then can be repeated and still blow them away. I do not do this as a "performance" but rather a "wanna see something weird" casual moment. For someone like me who does not do a lot of rubber band tricks, this is good one to know

This has some nice additions to the original effect from elastrix 2 (1995).
Joe is always looking create new moves and routines, but he also likes to improve wherever he can on an old one. This is a great example with new ideas and variations for an old one. For only $5, a no-brainer.

Maybe not a trick but a "wanna see something weird effect" Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on March 4th, 2021
This is a weird trick to add to your material. I'm not going to perform it as a trick but more as a wanna see something weird thing. I showed my kids and their friends and it was a hit but when I showed my wife and friend who was over I got nothing. So this trick might not be for adults but more for children. The methods can be used for other effects which is cool if you're into rubber band magic. It's worth the 5 bucks but I wouldn't buy it for any more.

I don't do much rubber band work, but this is so freaky that I'll have to do it. The torn/restore you get at the end is worth the price, tbh.

Rubber band stuff, for me, is kind of like 'hey watch this' stuff I do just messing around with friends, and this is really perfect for that.

Suffice to say the repeat break and restore is
worth the price of the download by itself. Slips
into any routine perfectly at any time!

Protect your neck Report this review

One of the most modern and visual displays of rubber band magic I have seen is out. The routine is straight forward. As an opening piece to your rubber band displays, this routine stands strong on its own! If you like you can follow it up with your other favorite rubber band gems. Or you can end the routine and still deliver a strong performance. Joe explains in detail the easy handling. He covers the angles to give the strongest visual experience. The band visually seems to repeatedly pass through your neck and in the end vanish!

Super Clever! Report this review

This is a really neat, multi-phase effect. It looks utterly impossible. It really does appear like you make a solid rubber band pass through your neck, not once, but multiple times. And the rubber bands used are not gimmicked or gaffed in any way. The method is really clever. Well done!

If it’s rubber bands and has the name Joe Rindfleisch on it, I just buy it.
No matter what Joe comes out with, he always brings something new to the table and again this doesn’t disappoint! I’ve always done a rubber band through neck using one of Joes old methods, but this is all totally new. Highly recommended!
