The teaching by Craig is, as always, top-notch. Always thorough. Not rushed. It was super helpful to
have the camera film from both the front and from above so you can see what the spectator should see
as well as the simple but critical moves from a magician's angle. Amazing how something so simple
can be so devastating in performance. Love the everyday, organic tricks like this!

I was surprised by the flimsy gimmick. I had expected something a little more sturdy. It works
well with Carmex lip balm in stick form. I can see this easily wearing out over time.
Other than that the demo is very accurate. What you see is what you can do. It will require
you to buy another lip balm of contrasting color.

I have performed Craig Petty's color change routine with the black and red chapsticks and it is
absolutely KILLING! My friends and family have said this is the best trick I have ever shown them.
One of my new go-tos.

I love this utility/gimmick. It's an eye catching effect with a few great endings. And the tutorial
was just excellent. Craig Petty is a brilliant instructor. He takes his time and presents
information in a logical, organized manner. Would purchase this again and I highly recommend.

Okay, so let me start by saying I've carried chapstick in my pocket everyday for years. I love items
that I already carry on me being able to do a couple of effects. This is sort of getting into the
EDC category, but more on that in a minute. I have a lot of chapstick based effects and gimmicks.
Redline by Dan Hauss, The Chapslick Kit by Philly Magic and Dan Hauss, Smooth by Nicholas Lawrence,
Cap by Byron Yung, Chapstick Addict by Jeff Prace, Flip Balm by Seth Race to name of few.
I
love Seth Race's stuff! Bankript is one of my all time favorite dollar bill effects, so much so that
took on the pain in the ass task of learning to make the gimmick myself just so I could give them
away as impposible objects. I do wish with Flip Balm we would have gotten the gimmick in at least
one other color or be shown how to make something similar ourselves. If you own the Chapslick Kit
you can indeed make something similar. Most Penguin Chapstick effects (Smooth, Flip Balm) use the
same black label. I've never met anyone that uses the plain original black label myself, most have
some sort of flavor/color labels.
To me the real value here is the tutorials, wow! You get 2,
(both around 50 min each) one by Seth Race and one by Craig Petty. Craig also brings in some good
ideas, the best to me being the Double Exposure / Coin on Call style of effect. Although I'm not
quite sure Craig understands the term EDC. Could you EDC Flip Balm? Sure. Should you EDC Flip Balm?
Probably not unless you plan on buying more of them or you keep your gimmicks in a special
case/place. I like to just throw my EDC stuff in my pocket as I usually would. If you do that with
Flip Balm the gimmick could come off and potentially be ruined in your pocket. If I have to protect
something or it's fragile, to me, it's not an EDC item. I need them to be tough and rugged and stand
up to the wear and tear of everyday carry and use, like coins or keys for example.
All in all
Flip Balm is a great addition to my ever growing Chapstick arsenal and I can't wait to see what Seth
Race comes up with next!!!

I absolutely love this trick. It’s super visual and can easily be handed out for inspection. The
instruction by Craig Petty is invaluable. Hands down one of my favorites that I’ve received from
Penguin Magic.

This might just be me but I can not find a lip balm thay works with the gimmick. The letters are way
to big or small and doesn't line up the gimmick shell is to long to fit them and does not fit on lip
balm tubed enough that it doesn't fall off handling the gimmick alone doesn't feel comfortable for
me.

The method is old, but the idea of introducing an organic object makes people never expect what the
next move is.
Love it!
Really good trick. I personally only like one of the routines, which is by Graig Petty. In my
opinion the rest of the routines are not great. You will receive a 50 minute tutorial by Seth Race
and Craig Petty.
My hands are small. It's a curse considering I love to do magic. This trick encapsulates this very
well. I love this type of trick and would carry this every day, but it's too big. My fingers can't
hide the truth like Craig's can. I'm planning on making something similar with something else, or
maybe try to find small chapsticks. That would be very nice. It loses a star because of the extra
work to make it so I can do it. Again, I love this tool. It's easy to use and if it weren't so big,
I'd handle it very well, which means it'll be no trouble for you. I had to cut the Superman coin
bend gimmick with a dremel, and this will be much easier to make than doing that.
