I've been buying all the tricks in the Apprentice line for my 10 year old grandson who, in turn, takes them to school to perform for his friends. He has enjoyed all of these effects but the DICE BOMB by far got the most noticeable positive reaction. The visual impact takes place in a burst of movement and sound and takes the viewer by surprise. The shocked look on his face said it all. He was then easily able to learn the methodology and technique. In fact, during many practice sessions the workings of the trick never failed. He later reported that no one at school could figure out how it all happened. Two notes: a.) with kids perhaps the only real instruction necessary beyond the basics is to make sure that they do not hold this up too high and that they IMMEDIATELY hand out the cup so that there is an offbeat for clean-up. b.) an unfortunate sign of the times: kids in some schools are not allowed to use the word "bomb" even in fun. Consequently, he needed to modify the otherwise perfectly fine patter suggestions provided. At less that $9 this is a good bet, especially if you have kids or perform magic for them.

as far as beginner magic is concerned this is top notch. its good enough that under the right circumstances a professional magician might still do it. this is priced right but has the usual drawbacks of beginner magic yet with professional impact.
