NOTE: After the release of HOT it came to our attention that a similar method was released by Colin McLeod in his Psycho download from 2020. HOT remains available to purchase with Colin's kind permission.

Always know the outcome of a coin toss. No peeking, no magnets, no electronics.

Coins have always been synonymous with magic, and now mentalists can get in on the action too. HOT is an inexplicable, multi-phase, close-up mind reading routine by the man who brought you the Billet Masterclass, Alexander Marsh.

Here's what's happens:

You unveil a sleek and stylish decision-making coin adorned with a Head on one side and a Heart on the other. Your participant flips the coin in the air, catches it and glimpses what it lands on. Despite never seeing the outcome of the toss, you accurately reveal how it landed.

Impressive. But it could be luck. So, you flawlessly divine the outcome again and again.

(You can repeat this as many times as you'd like and never fail!)

For the final phase, the coin is put away as you confidently write a prediction. Your participant merely imagines flipping the coin in their mind. In an impressive finale, amidst the realm of imagination, your powers triumphantly prove accurate once more!

Everything you need to perform this impossible feat will arrive snugly packaged in a stylish box. You'll receive online video instructions guiding you through the simple sleights and handlings necessary to make HOT your newest reputation maker.

HOT transcends performance settings, seamlessly captivating audiences both up close and on stage. In fact, it earned itself a place in Alex's 2023 stage act which was performed all over the world.

"Which Hand" has been done to death.

Alexander Marsh has the antidote.

Time to play Heads or Tails.

Normally everything I've bought from "the 1914" has been good quality so I preordered this directly from them. I'd enjoyed Alexander's billet course and thoughts on stagecraft.

So I had high hopes for this. The download was available before the coins came. The quality of the teaching of sleights is good. Several different handlings are covered. The routine is fun, but has one very obvious issue evident in the trailer. You need to have the coin back in your hand. I thought, being the clever people they are, this would be discussed. It's an obvious weak point that you would want addressing. The finale with the imagined coin has an obvious method, that can be good with time delays and subtleties, but this has none. I had thought of this as a utility prop which I could do more routines with and I have a few ideas of my own. There are ideas for other presentations in the instructions, but none of them are really any good. An over elaborate way of forcing a spectator and a bare outline of a bank nite routine. I can't se any one using the extra routines.

So, the tutorial was ok, the method was taught well enough and I could get past the issues if the prop had been nice. But, the coin just feels badly developed. The coin is small, about 10p/quarter size, too light weight for a satisfying coin toss and too dark to see it well in low light. The design is too busy and with the small size and darkness hard to see. I can see it will be hard for spectators to see. This is a major problem as you do not want spectators inspecting this. Alexander says this has been a staple of his shows for a long time and I believe it might have been, but with real coins, not this prop. That is evidenced in the instructions where he states he is using a prototype different from what you receive. They decided to change the design as it was too busy. I don't believe this new design has gone through any trials otherwise the issues would have been picked up. The poor level of thought combined with the handling issues makes this an effect that just feels rushed to release. It feels as if no one has given any critical opinions in the development and spoken up to say how it could be better. Very disappointing from a usually reliable company. Could have been good, but isn't.

This product is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't believe me, you will find reviews on youtube that say the same. His introduction says he wanted to make a better version of which hand but this version is underwhelming.

Without giving the method away, let's just say it takes up more pocket space than you think, in addition to carrying a pad and a pen for the final phase, which is so weak, it's a 50/50 finale, who the hell would be impressed by that. I'm writing this hoping to save someone money.

The Bad Reviews seem strange… Report this review

I am only reviewing cause I was looking for some new Marsh material and ran into these awful reviews…

1. This a 50/50 routine that builds and builds to a great finale
2. Pocket Space: without tipping the method too much, yes it takes “pocket space” but the coins are small and to me they are a wonderful quality. Again, I’m not sure what the fuss is about.
3. It’s Mentalism that requires some sleights — but the sleights don’t have to be perfectly polished because your script should be sharp enough to detract from your hands.

Another wonderful product from 1914 and expert insight from a true performer. That’s why I am here — to find more Marsh material because I Love HoT
