Just received these and have to say I am pleased. The card stock isn't the highest quality, but,
definitely more than satisfactory for the price.
I purchased these for the purpose of doing
readings, so if they get a bit worn out, all the better.
One benefit that I wasn't expecting
was that the cards are marked. This was a pleasant surprise, and one that I wasn't expecting for the
cost.
I will certainly be buying more in the future

In the instructions, Royal magic does not mentioned that this is a marked deck and it's a shame
because in all honestly, it's probably one of the best marked decks out there.
Once
memorized...you will blow people away a great set of tricks to do are the following:
-
start with the trick mentioned in the instructions.
- move onto having a person look at one card
then tell them what symbol it is.
- then end with them going through the entire set of cards
while you name off every symbol correctly.
Again, guys and gals, make these tricks your
own.

I purchased this deck of ESP cards after getting the Nick Trost book The Card Magic of Nick Trost.
There is a chapter on ESP Card tricks. ESP cards add a different dimension to card magic. These
can be used for card magic, mental magic or pure mentalism.
There are 5 symbols with 5
cards of each symbol. The cards are printed on reasonably thick stock but they are no where of the
quality of a Bicycle card. They are suitable for the occassional card routine and should last a
long time. They sport a star-theme on the back and simple black symbols on the front.
They
do not come in a card box but a light weight plastic bag case. They do not match the size of a Bike
card either. For the price they should do the trick.

This is the most basic and cheapest ESP deck on the market. It comes with the standard 25 cards (5
sets of 5 symbols). The cards are bridge size, they are secretly marked and they do not come with a
box but you receive a plastic sleeve which is pretty cheap and useless. I just keep a rubber band
around them.
For the price of the deck the quality is pretty good, however if you are
serious about performing strong ESP magic on a regular basis, I would suggest getting a higher
quality deck such as ESP origins or ESP Test deck by Magic Makers. Both of which are available from
Penguin.

I'll admit that I bought these on a lark because they are very inexpensive. I thought I'd check them
out but didn't have high hopes. As it turns out I like these better than the decks I have that cost
in the $25 -$40 range. I also own the FULLY NAKED ESP DECK which I like because of its minimalistic
aesthetics, and I will continue to use it. I think, however, that the marking system on the Royal
Magic cards is less likely to be discovered by spectators. Similarly, the ECLIPSE DECK is very
graphically appealing to me but I actually think its visual impact is actually a potential
detriment. It is so interesting to look at that I believe it attracts extra attention from
participants --- something that you don't want. I may be wrong about that but it makes me
uncomfortable. The last and maybe most important comment --- the Royal Magic deck cannot be read
from very far away. Other deck marking systems are promoted as being readable from across the room.
My reaction to that is: "Why the hell would I be reading them from across the room?" It really is a
non-issue. I have bad, old-man eyes and can easily make out the Royal Magic markings at a "normal"
distance. Those markings are subtle enough that I feel confident that spectators are not likely to
ever see them even after studying the cards.
Recently, Royal Magic has decided to decrease the quality of these cards. They are not good paper
stock, and the deck I received was not at all well printed, most especially the back of the cards.
There were streaks where the ink was rubbed off, and pale spot where the ink was not spread
properly.
The back pattern is well thought out, especially the marking system, but now it
is a black printing, no longer the blue.
These cards are bridge sized, which means they are 1/4"
skinnier (side to side) then poker sized cards. The coating is not very durable.
Super fast delivery, decks were great and a very good price.
Plus they are marked, leaves wide
open for many effetcs.
These ESP cards are good quality, playing card stock.
The markings are a bit tough to read,
but since they are ESP cards, they can't be obvious due to the nature of the effects. In fact, the
description did not say these cards were marked, so that's just a bonus. Like if you are REALLY
stuck, use the marks. ESP effects don't really need marked cards.
I like that this
particular set has a 3 wavy lines card and no triangle card. This way you can number the cards in
your head as 1,2,3,4,5 if necessary.
Finally, the instructions come with an effect you can
do, and I immediately applied it to ordinary playing cards as well. It was a hit.
It would
be nice to have a box for the the cards, but for the price, it is an extremely good value.
Easy to learn, easy to follow instructions. Great for table, standup and walk around performances.
