Although Ascanio's card magic is not my style, this is a must read book. Ascanio was a unique
thinker and many of his ideias and thoughts are in this book. I don´t have the other volumes because
all I wanted was to learn more about Ascanio´s philosophy. And I must say: he was a fantastic
magician.
Anyone who claims to be a magician should read at least:
. magic and
showmanship, by henning nelms
. the books of wonder, by tommy wonder
. designing miracles,
by darwin ortiz
. strong magic, by darwin ortiz
. Fizkee trilogy, by Dariel Fitzkee (althoug
I don´t agree with everything Fitkee´s says.)
And definetely
. the structural
conception of magic, by Ascanio
Sorry for my English :)

I found this to be one of the most readable books on magical theory I have ever encountered.
Everything that the author talks about is relevant and spot on, making it a very influential book to
magicians around the world. as soon as I finished it I started rereading from the beginning. There
are so many good and accurate points in this book it is hard to overlook them. While some of the
theory is a bit in depth, I didn't find that it was so deep that I drowned in it, as I have felt
with some other books on magic theory. The aesthetically pleasing layout make it a book that you
want to read and savor. If you are the type of magician strives to be a true artist in terms of
creating a masterpiece of deceptive entertainment, then this book will reinforce this notion.

Lots of information about magic theory and application.
There are no sleights or tricks in this
volume. However the information interviews and insight is great!

I've been obsessed with Tamariz' way of thought and I was surprised how much he praised Ascanio's
work. Years ago I met Gabi Pareras and that man changed my way of seeing magic and I became obsessed
with his work, but to understand his way of thinking you have to read his source, and his source was
this book and Ascanio's teachings and my god, you can clearly tell why the masters always think of
Ascanio as the father os spanish card magic.
There is no review that can truly express how great
this book is. If you can and if you love card magic, get the first 3 books of these series, read it,
study it and you'll reach a new level of artistry.

This is an absolutely amazing book. Ascanio was a very deep thinker and this book has a collection
of his theoretical writings together with interviews that are eye-opening. This book is so good that
it can elevate the quality of anyone's magic. If you have read Tamariz, you should read Ascanio.

More and more books are published in our beloved magic.
Although this is good, it forces
us to be more selective where we make our monetary investment and what is most precious, our
investment in time.
Ascanio was a Master, a thinker ahead of his time.
According
to his belief, he thought that it was essential to name certain actions in order to be able to use
them in a conscious and effective way.
Oblivious parentheses, contrasted parentheses,
transit action, conditioned naturalness or the susceptibility of slow execution ... these are just
some concepts that will make you rethink your magic from your foundations ... you will discover that
they are not as solid as you thought.
IMHO, one of the 5 most important books ever
published, and the first on Theory Magic.
