This is one of my most favorite books ever printed on Magic. When I got it I expected to learn
almost everything, and I did! Never owning anything from David Stone, I was a little wary. I wasn't
sure how good this might be in English or if I would enjoy it.
They did a very good thing
by having an introduction. It wasn't a normal introduction though. It's some of the funniest stories
of working the business professionaly. Everything from cheese getting stuck in thumb tips, to
performing nothing but a pass at a gig. It hooks you intensely. The entire rest of it is HILARIOUS!
David is a great writer and he knows how to get the reader interested and get his point across so
you learn with pleasure.
If you are looking for a book that will increase your standards
and recognize yourself, this is also for you. David is a worker in the field and it's a good reason
why! I learned more from this than anything else on Restaurant magic.
If you were like me
and want to learn restaurant magic and how to perform in them, this is most definitely for you.
Everything is here perfectly for you to learn from. YOu WILL take something away from here. 5/5! BUY
NOW!

Every magician, even the pro's should read this book.
No tricks, however, the advice is
fantastic and I've been
doing magic now for over 50 years.

This book is a real page turner. I didn't want it to end. It was like it was a autobiography and
theory and all that good stuff all in one book. He didn't sugarcoat anything. Sure he could have put
more attention toward the good that performing magic brings and not the bad. But he sure goes into
detail on why it's like that.
Topics and tips in these page can't be found in any other books
at least the top books that I have read and studied. For example how should the client introduce the
magician to the audience also he explains a extreme and passive approach to the many decisions we
magicians have to make and much more good topics and experience was wrote about.
After reading
this you will be ready to do restaurant strolling work. And money tricks was talked about a lot and
all that stuff on getting tips was covered in extra special detail.
I recommend this book
highly. And if you are planning to work in the table hoping industry, be strong and this is a must
have for you.
This is a great book that while it is all theory and no tricks, it's practical theory that you'll
find yourself jumping back to when you find yourself in situations that are described in the book.
You get a realistic view on what the close-up workers life is like and all the practical tips
and advice on how to present magic in different professional situations.
David Stone's humour
may not be for everyone but if you want to move from a hobbyist to a worker, this book is a great
place to build your foundation, and should get you excited to do magic for real people for real
money!
As I mentioned in title, this is bible for all magicians working with close up magic, especially for
table hoppers.
Huge section on how to get tips, and lots of valuable informations for beginner
and PRO as well. MUST HAVE!
I got this book from a Penguin Promotion via email!! The book follows very closely to the David
Stone dvd series. Fun to read and great advice!! Wisemen learn from others' mistakes, so learn from
his and make performing professionally easier for yourself. There are no tricks explained, instead
it's a guide to performing, preparation, and a lot of common sense advice that are important
details, that are easily overlooked. Recommend.
Great book and fun to read.
Much of what you will find here you probably already sort of knew or understood, but this book
brings it clearly into focus so you can actually ACT upon it. The advice on conquering "stage
fright" alone makes it a worthwhile read.
