What Is Black Envelope?
Bob Kohlers Black Envelope is a truly diabolical secret based on an idea from top Scottish card man Peter Duffie, tipped to Bob by Frank Garcia. In typical Kohler fashion, Bob then honed the concept and created five real-world, practical routines which have all held a steady place in his professional repertoire for over ten years. There are a number of routines on this DVD, but I use the first routine which is the NO-Palm card to Envelope. This routine is just brilliant. I have used it on numerous people now and they are just blown away. I highly recommend this DVD. One problem I had found however that in some situations of the DVD, the sound had fluctuated. It may have been an isolated situation and it doesn't detract from the killer routine that is provided.

I originally got this hoping for a new angle, curiosity and the right price. Now, am I glad I did.

I was surprised how wrong I was in how it was done, as well as the fact that I learned it and was able to show it off in a reasonable time.

So Black Envelope met all my goals! I'm still learning, I have tons of curiosity and as long as I can get SOME of my tricks the cool box once in a while . . . count me in as a part of the Penguin clutch!

Effect works differently than I thought. I purchased this because I had planned on gaffing some envelopes for some mentalism and wanted to see some different methods. Much to my amazement, you don't really gaff an envelope. You can hand the envelope to the spectator! Very worth the purchase and the view.

This magic is just beautiful. Most audiences have never seen anything like this before and are blown away that their card is inside the envelope. Here's the real kicker, after I perform the black envelope I let my spectators inspect the card AND the envelope! You just can't go wrong!

I love this trick. It's one of my best. I think anyone who does not like this trick is crazy. It's the best. I recommend this trick to anyone who does shows.

I got this DVD and watched it. Ok seemed pretty darn cool. Then I performed it for my friends and family and they were impressed. However I put it in my restaurant routine as the ending to my Ambitious Card Routine, and people just were not impressed. I ended up replacing it with the kaps on fire wallet. Overall, if you get it just for performing for your friends and family then go for it, but I just don't like this for professional performances.
