If you don't like this effect, it has to be because you've not practiced it enough to make it smooth
and natural. How can someone argue with an effect that brought Copperfield down off of his
thousands and thousands of dollars worth of props to perform in the faces of his audience?
This effect is misleading (no pun intended) in the sense that you feel as though you might be
able to perform this properly very quickly. Don't be "Misled". Practice this until it's simply
second nature, and you'll be thrilled with the outcome. About the time you think you've got it,
you'll want to spend another week performing it a few times per day, and then you'll be ready to
unleash it in a close-up environment. If you've got some distance between you and your spectators,
you can cut off the last week, as the distance alone will hide the last vestiges of gimmickery (is
that a word?).
I very much recommend you pick this up. It's a great effect, and it's a
staple in the magician's learning process.

Classic. I have performed this for friends, family, and professionally during walk-around gigs. It
always gets a great reaction. In my opinion, this is and always will be better than any of the
"pen-thru-bill" effects because both the pencil AND the bill may be borrowed. Misled stands out and
is better than all of the imitations. Do not be fooled by the simplicity of the effect or the
method. Take the time needed to read the manuscript. Read and take to heart what Copperfield did
"wrong" when he performed this on t.v. Practice and make every move appear natural. There is a
reason that Copperfield performed this on national television - with the proper amount of time and
practice, it is just a great effect.

The gimmick is somewhat a masterpiece. Not only is it a product of some very smart thinking process,
it's also from the perfect metirial - almost non-breakable, easy to work with, the right
dimensions...
The effect is so visual and convincing that I have it on my youtube channel to
show potential customers.

Misled is to me the finest of all "pen thru" tricks I've ever seen and owned. This trick requires
some practice and a smooth move in the ending to be able to hand the bill and pencil out to full
examination. Once you master this you'll find yourself with one of the most stunning illusions.
Perfect, jaw dropping - be aware that the audience might just tear the bill and pencil to pieces
trying to figure it out - yes indeed, it's that good. It's the melt through that astonishes, and
it's the only melt through trick I've seen that allows for a small fast move to a full examination.
Real value for money.

The thing that separates this from all the other pun through dollar routines is that you can
actually control the depth of the penetration. Start of with just a little bit poking through and
then push it through a little more. The only problem that I have is that I find the handling a bit
unnatural for me. Other than that, this is a great product. On the plus side, it can also be handed
out for inspection afterwards with no switch outs.

Misled is a brilliant 2 phase effect with innocent items. You really have the opportunity to create
a miracle with a borrowed bill and a pencil which can be left to be examined. It's easy to do so it
gives you every opportunity to concentrate on the presentation. When I perform Misled it gets
audible gasps, and comments like "no way!". Yeah, sometimes that's the kind of reactions I'm looking
for.

I just love doing this trick and it gets great reactions! With some practice, very easy to do and
what it comes with is very durable and reliable so far. I think it works great for close up and
stage, and the instructions online and written give options for how to end clean in the end. Highly
recommend!

Get this. It is so adaptable to the environment it is in. It can be close-up or parlour. Great
for restaurants and while it does take some practice, it is visual candy and to the audience, it
seems as though it can be examined immediately after.

Perfect!... virtually...
Why virtually? Because it is not angle proof. However this effect
can easily be performed in the living room or parlor setting, as I have done many times. It allows
for a real shocker moment, as many magicians themselves have never seen a PENCIL through dollar
effect.
You can even hand out the pencil and the dollar at the end, without either of them
ever leaving the audiences site; theres no need for switches or anything.
Lovely! Buy now!

Hi! This is your official PenguinMagic reviewer, B_Magic.
THIS TRICK IS THE BOMB-DIGGITY!
Add to cart. It's great!
I've been using Misled for years and years now, and it has always
been and may always be part of my Absolute Arsenal. Now I will say this, it's not an effect I do all
the time. In fact, there are weeks when I don't use it at all. But when the timing and conditions
are right, I always have this on me and ready to go, because I know it's gonna KILL.
The
effect is simple and fairly straightforward. Beware, there are serious angle issues with this
effect, so you will want to put in practice time in front of a mirror, or even better, a camera, in
order to make this trick look great. You will also want to practice a solid patter to go with this,
otherwise the effect will lack punch. The trick is great, however, and can be performed many ways.
In my opinion, there is no other pen-thru (or in this case, pencil-thru) that I have EVER
seen or performed that is better than this one. It's that good, but unlike its counterparts, it
takes more work and practice to pull this one off. Definitely not a virtual self-worker like many
other pen-thrus.
