This has all kinds of potential. I can't wait to start messing around with different ways of doing
it.
Rick's teaching is great, and the method he teaches is too, but if you'd like to allow
your spectator to remove the card from the box themselves without potentially giving them a hint as
to the secret, this can be easily accomplished by turning the box over and sort of doing the "move"
in reverse, masked by the motion of you extending your hand towards them. Then they can grab and
remove the card and it looks 100% clean.
Also, I saw some of you saying you didn't like the
idea of the card being in the box, but if you use Rick's method and patter, there is a very good
reason for why it is. However, that being said, the basic concept and technique could be used in a
mariad of ways, so realistically, this is only limited by your imagination.
Have fun with
this one, guys! I know I will!

Fist off I want to say I like Rick Lax and his ideas. I have a couple of his effects and like his
style. But I feel I have to let the readers know a few things.
Note this one got allot of
reviews very fast, even on the same day of the launch. This is due in part, from the bold
solicitation at the end of the video. Rick asked people if they LIKED the video to like it and post
a review.
This is an effect you will play with, like the idea of but probably will not use all
the time.
The bending idea is good. Read carefully. The copym when I purchased, this is
misleading. I hope they change it.
The copy implies you can borrow a deck ( any deck
which is number 2 in the copy) and go into the effect (any time which is number 2/3 in the copy
list). But this is NOT the case. If you were to borrow a deck you have to do a set up which you
can not do in front of the audience. If you can, it is not explained. You will have to have cover to
prep and it will take 5 to 10 beats. That is allot of time to be fiddling with something unseen
before going into the effect.
So it is not really any deck at any time.
And one could
argue there is one bad angle if they are sitting and you are standing but I can not go detail here
.
Rick is an excellent teacher but could have spent 10 seconds on how to do this with a
borrowed deck. He did not even touch on it. The demo stars with the deck already unboxed and set up.
He could have spent a few seconds running through it cold from the deck boxed and not preset. Rick
focus on the effect not a practical routine.
Yes, you COULD use any Deck, but you most
likely will NOT. You COULD do it any time, but only if you are prepared. So it is not really
impromptu as the any deck, any time implies. And even if you prepped for ANY DECK. You could not
really prep for ANY deck to be able to perform ANY TIME if the deck is not the type you prepped for.
ONe should not have to read between the lines or see how the copy is true in hindsight. The
copy is misleading the consumer.
Some argue that you would not bend a card in a
borrowed deck and would use your own. That is probably more likely the case but then you can not
use the deck for something else without a little more effort. All I am saying is be prepared to
think about this if your goal is to use this as a worker.
Is the bend good? yes but with
one caution- SOME might not be able to do it. If you have any medical issues in hands, you might
not be able to do this. Or small young hands might also have some issues that could expose it.
As it is it is worth the price if you think you can still use it or if you are just curious.
I just wanted to clear up some of the copy claims.

First off, I would like to thank Rick for releasing this effect. I had nothing but a smile on my
face while watching this video, especially when Rick discusses the history of the trick and the
overall method. The method itself is quite good, however I must say that I was a little disappointed
that Rick never discusses how to get in to the trick from a walk around stand point. I know this
isn't the case because I have been doing magic for several years, but for a beginner picking this
effect up is kind of like doing a coins across routine without knowing any coin sleights... It is
never discussed how to bring the gimmick into play, whether or not the gimmick can be stored in the
box with the other cards, and if it can be kept in the box, exactly what you need to do to prepare
for the effect and bring the gimmick into play in the simplest way possible. Like I previously
stated, these questions weren't hard for me to answer, but from an objective standpoint looking at
this video under the guise of a beginner, those were just a couple of questions I feel should have
been addressed. Overall though, I'm very happy with this trick and will definitely use it in the
future.
Thanks a ton Rick!

Alright, I don't always post reviews but when I do it means that the trick is incredibly genius.
First of all, you can perform this completely surrounded there is nothing to see. There is
a little tiny preparation to do before the performance but it seriously takes 1 min. This can be
done with ANY deck of cards, aywhere at at any time.
Its easy to perform, easy to set up
and easy to amaze people with.
And the best part is that this beautiful miracle is only 10
BUCKS. I would have payed 30$ honestly.
Combine this with some loops magic and you easily
will become a psychic. This is the best thing I have bought in a very long while, so just go and buy
it you won't regret it.

The card being isolated inside the deck of cards, inside the case, makes Chi Card appear hands off (
the case and deck are not gimmicked and can be examined ).
You'll not only be able to
perform this right away, you will also make the eyes bug out of anyone that witnesses this
incredible pice of magic.
A+++
Rick has quickly become one of my favorite creators
of close up magic.

I HAVE to praise this effect and the thought/routining behind it. The method is simple (almost
disappointingly so) and something we've all done with our old cards at one time or another, but Rick
used it to a GREAT end! You may think of even easier ways to routine this, but it's so simple, that
I think if you can handle a deck and deal a card without dropping it, you are going to AMAZE some
people with this!If you borrow a deck, you will need 15 to 20 seconds to "get" a card ready, or
carry a red and blue back on you to switch in. It is NOT complex, and technically you are ruining a
card by bending it, so you may want to just use your own deck. I am now just a hobbyist because I
have little time to practice, and even I WILL use this. If you are tired of buying "simple" tricks
that require "minimal practice or preparation" that are demonstrated with head pounding music and
filming techniques that bounce around so much that you couldn't even tell if the magician was
switching cards with a stooge in thr AUDIENCE, I'm telling you, THIS IS simplicity. If you like the
EFFECT, GET IT NOW! I usually get disappointed when the method is so simple, but in this case, with
the quality of the effect and it's impact, the simplicity makes it worth MORE, because you will be
willing to PERFORM it!

I am no card pro but I could not even get this idea to work at all. The card kept wanting to stand
up straight and the effort I would have to use to make this work would be so obvious. I would not
recommend this effect to anyone.

Hey ! The trick is good ! Alias very good ! But I can't bent totally.
Just can bend the
beginning, not the card totally..
Don't know why...
Watched the explanations 6
times, but don't know how to bend totally, maybe the explanations may have different angles and
things that can help because I really can't bend totally..

Its really is the best kind of magic for me and I'm picky. The one where you can setup in a flash (5
seconds) and do something different without having to carry an extra gimmick.
I'm not a
big card guy, so I always look for something a little more interesting to do with cards. Not every
specs loves card tricks, but we all have them, so I throw in just a couple of shockers. This is now
one of them, they would never expect this and thats interesting. Its hard to find cool things that
are engaging, that you can ham up and actually have fun with people, real fun, not lame jokes doing
boring card tricks, but actually entertaining and interesting in a unique way like STC without
carrying the gimmick or multiple decks.
-Teaching excellent
-Video short and to the
point perfect
-Method and setup easy
-Fun yes
-Worth it absolutely
- Gimmick, not
really, it's just a normal playing card.
Someone said how can you set it up?
Just
carry the deck, and pull it out of the box, select the card, put the deck back in the box, insert
card anywhere, bend card, take out the card give to spec, pull out deck and use it.
It
looks impossible after you just showed the card and then bent it in the box with the other cards.

As others said it's not any deck or anytime which is why I got it, because an impromptu card bend
would be too amazing. However this is not the case which kind of sucks. I would give it higher
because the effect looks so nice but it only works sometimes with me for some reason. I kept
watching the video over and over but half the time it bent all the way and others it just wouldn't
go. Rick Lax is amazing but this is not what I wanted.
