the video instructions shows it covering the quarter very well…I understand I can cut my own, which

Look, before I start, you already know what the gimmick is.
If you don't, then BUY THIS RIGHT
NOW because I believe this is THE BEST and most PRACTICAL version of a popular effect called the
bite out coin. Also, I will be giving a review based on a street/walk around magician's point of
view. If you're working a venue or gig, then completely disregard my review because what I'm going
to be complaining about will not necessarily apply to you. Alright, let's get into it.
This is
one of my absolute favorite effects, and I love it to death. The gimmick could be used for the
commercial effect or used as a simple bite out coin. It's double sided! One side is "chocolate,"
the other is the tail face of a quarter. I wish they had advertised that because that was a nice
little surprise and I honestly would have bought this effect earlier had I known that.
"So then
why are you giving it three stars?" you ask. Well setting aside the amazingly well-made gimmick, I
am docking TWO whole stars simply because the teaching on the DVD was well... Crap. Not
surprising honestly. Yes, the little switch that they teach you is probably the best and fairest
switch to use with this effect. However, that is the ONLY switch that they teach. So for an
absolute beginner, this should be fine. I just wished they would have maybe thrown in one or two
more switches.
However, that's not really why I'm docking the stars. Why I am giving this
overall effect three stars is because they do not, in any shape or form, go over how someone would
carry said gimmick around (it's actually quite cumbersome because there is a piece of freaking foil
attached to it. So simply throwing it in your pocket along with perhaps your keys or phone not only
might potentially damage the gimmick but will definitely ruin the foil,) how to load it, and how to
properly ditch it. So if you're a beginner, you're pretty much screwed in these areas.
Basically, they only focused on the switch and left out the rest for you to figure out yourself.
If you're familiar with coin magic then this wouldn't be a problem. However, at the time of my
purchase, I only had a few basic coin sleights "up my sleeve." So it was a problem for me back
then. My biggest problem being I had no way to properly carry the gimmick around, and without a way
to properly carry it there wasn't a way I can easily steal it out.
It's been a few months now
since I've had it. I had to test it out so I can give you a proper review. And I honestly love it.
I did come up with a little hold out for the coin (a 3d printed "device" that hooks onto my belt
lol) simply because I love it so much and I always perform it. I just really wished the DVD went
more in depth with its teaching rather than handing you the gimmick then kicking you to the curb.
Before I leave, I'll quickly tell you about what comes with the DVD. When I got the gimmick,
the band on the coin was already loose so I had to trash it. The band, I'm talking about trashing
the band. The effect only came with two extra bands, which is great, however, two seemed rather
skimpy in my opinion. So do buy extra bands when purchasing this effect. I'm already down who
knows how many bands. Sansminds did also supply a pretty hefty amount of foil for you. And if you
run out, simply cut out more. Something they DID go over in the DVD. And that's it. Gimmick, DVD,
two extra bands, and some foil cutouts.
So my final verdict? BUY NOW and practice, practice,
practice. Godd luck!

gets a great reaction.

The effect makes sense, performing the regular coin bite I had been called out on the coin made out
of chocolate. This is a added a bonus effect.

This is a great twist on the old classic... really justifies the bite, and makes for a beautiful
change as well.
Perfect for walk around
