As a working magician and not the usual 12 year old typically on this review site for Penguin...I
was very excited to receive my Fire Wallet 2.0 until I tried to use it. It will not light
consistently (1 out of 10 tries), is a weird fake leather, weighs a ton, and get this...you are NOT
supposed to put it in your pocket if you will be sitting down...what?
All of the demo's
discuss using this as your "regular" wallet but the DVD specifically states that you should not
place this in any pocket that you may sit down on as it will bend the gimmick.
I have and still
use a $20 fire wallet that I have had for several years and it is far superior to this overpriced,
non-working, imitation leather wallet. The only reason I did not give this 1 star is that the
"spring-close" action is cool, but that's about it. Very disappointed. On it's way back for a
refund!!!

I ordered the fire wallet 2.0 because I needed it for a gig, and ended up not using it because after
practicing with it for two weeks, I could not get it to light reliably. It lit once every 3 tries
or so. I adjusted the flint, made sure there was enough lighter fluid and that I used the proper
fluid, and even had a fellow magician check it out to see if I was just not striking it properly.
No luck. It seems like a durable wallet and I liked the spring-loaded flap, but it was so
unreliable that I couldn't use it. Too bad.

This looks great when it works. Came with good instructions, great looking wallet. Sometimes I have
a hard time getting mine to light.

This wallet looks and feels really nice. The problem is that mine will light once in a great while
on the first strike, but usually about four or even on the fifth strike, and sometimes it even takes
more. I went through the Penguin video of how to use it properly, and also went through the dvd that
came with the wallet step by step to be sure I was doing everything correctly. Though I was really
excited about using this fire wallet, I find it to be $44 dollars of unreliability. If it doesn't
light on the first strike, it just can't be used and that is a major deflation of expectation. You
can't pull it out and keep striking it and tell someone, "wait a minute," until it FINALLY flames.
It just doesn't work like that in the performing world. The card in wallet feature is a good idea,
but it doesn't work either. Just inside where you reach for the card is a seam that the card catches
on almost every attempt at removing the card. That seam should have been over lapped from the other
direction and then sewn and it would have worked. That would have allowed the card to ride over the
seam instead of being trapped under the seam. When my striking finger quits hurting from striking
this wallet trying to get it to work, I will try again. But let me say this... if I hadn't already
purchased this wallet, and know what I know now of its deficiencies, I would have saved my money.

I've been using the wallet pretty regularly for a month now and it's quite durable. Though, since
it's the only fire wallet I own, I can't compare it with others.
The wallet is quite good
as an opener to get people's attention, and since people want to immediately handle the wallet after
I light it, I transition quickly to Extreme Burn or some of the other little tricks I keep in the
wallet. It's a whole act in my pocket, fun to perform.
The billet section is divided in
two, so if you use it as a regular wallet, you can keep your gimmicked bills seperate from your
regular bills. So the wallet is quite practical.
One can glimpse gold mettallic inside the
secret fold seen from the side. So I'm careful only to show the face of the wallet, and I haven't
had anyone notice it yet.
With some thoughtful handling, I've been successful so far in
overcoming whatever flaws the wallet has. And I'm very happy with the durability of the wallet.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Fire Wallet. I'm actually using it as my
everyday wallet so it's always with me. The DVD included with it goes into good detail on the use
of the wallet.
The only think that prevents me from giving it a five star rating is the
paucity of ideas for actual usage of the wallet. The couple of jokes included are pretty weak and
I'd like to see some actual tricks using the wallet.
I've actually starting using it with
First Hand. After showing flames coming out of the wallet I pull out some burnt money, then use
First Hand to "repair" the bills (saves me from carrying four hundreds around with me so there's
avery practical side to it).

I've been familiar with fire wallets for over decade and understand and appreciate the entertainment
value received from this prop.
I ordered the fire wallet 2.0 and was thrilled to receive it
especially seeing the promo video and the other reviews. Unfortunately, the wallet shipped to me had
an issue with the lighting mechanism and is unusable. Aside from having to send it back to the USA,
which I have yet to do, this device is now unusable. Very disappointing, especially considering the
price.

I rated it four but not five.
Four because of the following; it's durable, it's fast acting,
it's easy to open and light, and it's almost undetectable.
Not five for the following; It does
not hold lighter fluid for very long, (at least mine doesn't) it does have a spot where people can
see the gimmick when that gimmick is hidden, and the card to wallet aspect is not very well made
(the one I have has a lip that cause the cards to catch as I am pulling them out, which increases
the risk of flashing the secret)
All in all, it is a very well made fire wallet and I enjoy
it a lot. I just wish they would have worked on some finer details.

This is really smart redesign to a fire wallet. It has many great new features. All the advertising
hype is true. It holds the fluid for so many hours, seals it in, it's smartly designed. The striker
has quality you can feel. The colouring is prefect all black - hides sooty marks and makes the
gimmick invisible from the casual side view. Solid metal layers where you need them for strength and
heat protection for the wallet.
While you can 'use it' as a wallet. They state the metal
can be bent over time if you put it in your back pocket. I also found once I put my mountain of
credit cards, license, bills membership cards and receipts in it, it was feeling rather full and
tight with such a quality gimmick, which would shorten the life of the device. I used another brand
as an everyday wallet, but rarely had it loaded with fuel when I wanted to do the trick impromptu
anyway.
I recommend using it during shows only - or if you are going to use it at a store
checkout, load it for that day only. I have an old credit card, some useless receipts and some
business cards in there so it looks like my everyday wallet.
This is a great price for such
quality, it will last. And the DVD is great too!

The wallet is nice. It is just like how the ad shows it. It is what its suppose to be made out to
be. And its durable, you should get many many performances out of this as long as you can handle the
smell and fire burst. But its safe and has some nice features and is a fully functional wallet.
Oh and im so glad for the dvd, presentations, handlings and extras. I plan for the burnt bill
extreme burn change.
Very Recommended with flames on top.
