This is a beautiful wand. It's very heavy which is great for wand spinning but bad for the foot if
you drop it. The two piece unit is a neat conversation piece. For the price it is a steal!

I bought this on a bit of an impulsive whim.
I was sick and tired of my mediocre wands breaking,
and saw this for a little more than I wanted to pay. I had an order ready to place and though "what
the heck? why not?" and added it.
This was my favorite part of my order. Using this in my
cups and balls routine just demands attention. It is a beautiful wand with a great weight to it. I
never thought I'd love using a wand until I saw this.

I have only bought one magician's wand in my life: this one. And I will fore sure never, ever have
to buy another one. This wand is pure quality, it's heavy and very well balanced. In my opinion
perfect for Cups & Balls.

Never having own a magician's wand before this one, I must say that I was very surprised at the
weight of this wand. It was not what I expected. To say that it is "built to last" is an
understatement. This piece of equipment is beautifully crafted and I was surprised at how perfectly
balanced it was. I found that performing spins and wand flourishes were quite easy. Let's be honest,
nothing is a greater motivation than the desire to not break nearby objects or feet. Like working
with proper contact juggling balls, the only way to learn properly is to use the real thing and
force yourself to take risks.
The wand itself unscrews easily and packs away nicely. Aside
from some unwanted tarnishing on the brass tips (easily removed with brasso or some similar metal
cleaning product), the dark rose colored woods is beautifully finished and the overall construction
is flawless.
If you want to look like a professional, you have to use professional looking
things - If you perform cups & balls and use a wand in your routine, this is the wand for you.
Be warned: It is heavy and will require some decent practice.

The wand is beautifully made and is a real bargain -- any magician would be proud to display/use
this prop...but I purchased it as THE wand to use with a cups and balls routine, and for THAT
purpose, I think the wand is simply too heavy, especially if you plan to do the spin or strike
vanish (unless you have extra large or strong hands) -- I had a beautiful hard plastic glitter wand
that I bought 35 years (yup, I said years!) ago, but alas, it broke recently as I was practicing the
spin vanish -- if I had been using THIS wooden wand with brass tips at the time, the damage would
have been far more extensive!

You go out there with this wand and a set of Penguin cups and you look more professional than David
Copperfield (Okay maybe not, but you do look very professional!)

This was the first wand that I bought. First it is a very pretty wand. The red wood and brass tips
make you look very professional. It has good weight and a solid feel to it. Unfortunately I had
three problems. When I execute the Vernon/Mora wand spin, the smooth nature of the wand causes it to
slip and fly out of my hand around 25% of the time. I use the wand spin several times in my cups and
balls routine and found this to be annoying(so did the dog!). The other problem I had was it's kind
of heavy to do the striking vanish. The weight just makes it harder. Finally, heavy use caused it to
loosen up which requires tightining, sometimes during a routine. I picked up Michael Ammars Mercury
wand (which penguin sells) and found it to be a much better wand for the spinning flourishes being
it's lighter and has a rubber center. So if your using it for taps and to help you hold out it's
great, but I didn't like it for the high speed spinning actions.

The wand is just amazing, looks beautiful and has a good weight, the problem for the workers... it
is not well balanced (the weight) and you might fell intimidated practicing with a prop that might
break if it falls, and the consequence is that if you dont practice with this wand, you will end
using another on performance. Altought I complained about the balance, it is not difficult to do a
wand spin vanish, you just have to know what side you are using to do it.

This is such a great wand. When it arrived it was a lot heavier than I thought it would be. It takes
some getting used too, but the weight isn't much of a problem. In the video, it looks black. It is
actually more of a red wood. It looks very professional. It's the best wand there is!
Just
one warning before you buy it, it hurts A LOT if you drop it on your foot!
