Jeff Copeland's Blackbird is the quickest, cleanest way to hold-out and produce coins at will. It is the magician's new, ultimate, spy tool that secretly places a coin directly in your palm, on demand. The user can calmly and reliably get extra coins into play with minimal effort and expert timing. At your pace, easily unlock, deploy, and deliver. Simply put, Blackbird delivers coins on demand. It's a sexy, undercover device that gives the user confidence and power to control the production of coins. Building on classic principles of magic, Blackbird reinvents the game on how coins come into play.

Blackbird is a bold new gimmick like nothing else on the market. It empowers you with confidence of years of practiced sleight of hand when coins simply appear without reaching into a pocket, making body steals, or moving hands out of the spectator's view. Easy to operate, Blackbird is at the command of the magician as seen in the demonstration trailer.

Blackbird provides freedom. No longer is there a rush to produce coins, because your coins are secretly and securely hidden until needed. Blackbird was designed to complement the natural movements in many coin routines, so the operation is quick & easy to learn. No ditches. No pockets. With Blackbird, there is no extra prop, clip, string or "sticky stuff" to ditch after production. Blackbird delivers the magician's coins without the need for unpractical performance angles or ever putting hands out of view. It is a true empowerment to classic magic.

Resetting a coin takes 5 seconds. Because of the unique front loading feature, the magician never needs to roll up the sleeve making it ideal for reset between tables in a strolling environment.

Each purchase comes with two sleek, ergonomic Blackbird units (for right and left arm), with armbands (adaptable to almost all body types), and adaptor inserts for smaller coins. Blackbird is designed to specifically be used with coins that are US Dollar and US Half Dollar sized, however will accept the most common coin denominations from around the world. The online instruction video teaches several hacks to experiment with coins that are slightly different sizes and thicknesses.

Over 3+ hours of detailed, online video instruction by Jeff Copeland teaching 6 fantastic routines to get you started. Also comes with a printable PDF troubleshooting guide as well as teaching on all the handling, care, maintenance and ideas how to perfect your current coin routines.

I have never used this! It is all plastic. It was made to fit a 50 cent piece and a silver dollar but that being said, it doesn't. Once you load the coin in place, it will fall out so if you have expensive coins, not anymore...The video tells how to customize the cheap plastic thingy to fit any sized coin, but why should I, it was supposed to be a perfect fit for the half and dollar sized coins right out of the box. Everything about it is cheaply made, including the lever that is supposed to lock the coin in place. So even if you do have a perfect fit for your coin, you will more than likely lose it anyway. You can buy this and throw away $50 or you can buy something that actually works.

Neat, but it's a drawer item Report this review

I perform mainly up close Magic and the blackbirds seemed to be a godsend at first.
That was until I realized that the plastic is thin above the top of the coin and it can become deformed and actually hold the coin and place.
I noticed that regardless of the angle of positioning, they seem to only work flawlessly about half the time. The remaining half left me having to clap my hands order to jar the coins out of place.
They also prevent me from rolling up my sleeves as I tend to do under normal circumstances.

The blackbird is not worth all the hype. Not because of the gimmick but because of the clothing requirement. This is a great concept but it is just not practical for me. I went through all of my long sleeve shirts and hoodies in my closet and I cannot find even one that will let the coin slide all the way down without it getting caught up in the sleeve somewhere. I am planning on taking it to Goodwill tomorrow and see if I can find a shirt that will actually do the job. Also, the gimmick doesn't 100 percent lock your coin in place in the locked position so it is possible that you could lose a coin if you are wearing this gimmick around with you all day. Other than that, the video is great. If I had to do it all over again, I would just use slight of hand to make coins appear and disappear rather than relying on gimmicks. Back to the basics I go. And that is a good thing. Overall, this is a great trick if you can find the right shirt to wear to make it work flawlessly.

Brilliant Report this review

I want to say this is brilliant in its simplicity; but while using the Blackbird is simple, there's nothing simple about how it came to be. This gives 'thinking outside the box' a whole other level! I don't personally know the man, but I want to thank Jeff Copeland for all the hard work and thought he put into this. The Blackbird is a quality utility item and a lot of fun to use. The instructional video is well-produced, covers almost anything you can think of, teaches several routines that utilize the Blackbird, and is a whopping three hours long.
This is brilliant. This is a game changer.

Black Bird Coin Holdout Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 8th, 2017
As a working semi-professional for forty-five years,I have felt comfortable with sleeving techniques, especially those taught by Slydini. Black Bird opens the door for other handelings. But, the device, does not lend it self for any clothing with a narrow wrist opening. For smooth capture of the coin the sleeve of the jacket cannot narrow and a long sleeve shirt is out of the question.

All things considered, Black Bird is workable with a great deal of experimentation with wardrobe.

I am so happy with Blackbird gimmick. It is well-made and so simple to operate. The possibilities are wonderful. It is pricey, and still I hope to be able to order more.

There are two ways I gauged this.

Normal coins and Gimmicked Coins.

I absolutely love this for Eisenhower Coins (and coins that size).
You just have to remove the insert and it works perfectly.

I am extremely disappointed that I cannot use Gimmick Coins with this. N2, Magnetic (and standard) Shell and Triple TUC are too tight of a fit to use with this.

To be honest, I wanted this for Gimmick Coins to be brought into play. I do manipulate regular coins so that’ll be all it’s for.

I rate this 4.75 Stars.

The devices themselves are not the strongest things but they do what they’re supposed to. It’s made to be inconspicuous when worn, not to withstand rough treatment.

Overall there is nothing to complain about. It works perfectly for non gimmick coins and, even tho I only received it today, I will definitely use them in the future as well as purchasing a second set.

Why a second set? Because you can strap a set to your biceps and a set to your forearms and can produce four coins out of nowhere. OR you can use it as a Hold Out along the edge of your jacket or shirt.

Also I think I should start getting paid for my honest reviews of items (😂) because as some of you may know I am a real A-hole when something sucks.

Black Bird works for me! Report this review

I bought two sets and find it useful. It's true that if you put a half dollar or a silver dolar and want to hold coins there while you go shopping and don't plan to use it you could lose the coin. It could unlock. But if you place the coins there before the performance you're safe. One review said he'd rather do slight of hand and that's fine but if you want to show your hands empty. This is the way. You can also place it at the bottom of your jacket and retrieve a coin as you relax arms at your side. I love it!

Saw one review panning this because it's plastic, who cares, it works. Mine work exactly as described, you can present a coin out of nowhere. Wear with a jacket and short sleeve shirt and you'll be absolutely fine. Just wearing with a shirt might be a problem because of the width etc. but I've had zero issues and having two of these bad boys (one for each arm) allows you to do some cool things. I'm not a big coin person to begin with, but this was so easy it's hard not to be with it. Just tailor some things around the larger coins (I'd give it 10 stars if a quarter version existed) for some other routines and you're set. Deserves 5 stars in my opinion, I like it
