The blackbird is not worth all the hype. Not because of the gimmick but because of the clothing
requirement. This is a great concept but it is just not practical for me. I went through all of my
long sleeve shirts and hoodies in my closet and I cannot find even one that will let the coin slide
all the way down without it getting caught up in the sleeve somewhere. I am planning on taking it to
Goodwill tomorrow and see if I can find a shirt that will actually do the job. Also, the gimmick
doesn't 100 percent lock your coin in place in the locked position so it is possible that you could
lose a coin if you are wearing this gimmick around with you all day. Other than that, the video is
great. If I had to do it all over again, I would just use slight of hand to make coins appear and
disappear rather than relying on gimmicks. Back to the basics I go. And that is a good thing.
Overall, this is a great trick if you can find the right shirt to wear to make it work flawlessly.
If I'm understanding correctly, the coin would not slide down your sleeve even without blackbird. It sounds as though the coin is stuck in your sleeves. Have you tried the troubleshooting PDF? It is a download on the download page. This may give you another adjustment for Blackbird that would allow it to work, but if your sleeves will not allow a coin to move up and down even for traditional sleeving, then this might not be Blackbird's fault. Thanks for your review.
Definitely not the gimmicks fault. I didn't think it would be this hard to have a coin slide down the sleeve.
I have had no problems with it so far. First off perhaps your sleeves are too tight, secondly if your jacket has a silk lining it will help the coin slide down your sleeves. That being said, I do agree (somewhat) about the coins not fitting entirely in the gimmick. They can fall out accidentally, but this only happens if the device is knocked around a lot. I literally walked around doing errands all day and had no problems, until I got in my car to drive home, and then my coins fell out (go figure, they fall out right when I am driving).
My suggestion is to wear it with a blazer or suit coat and not a dress shirt, which is what it sounds like you are doing.
