Leslie P. Guest's Do It Yourself Magic:
Updated design for a neat piece of do-it-yourself magic where you cut and fold an empty paper box to produce a hankerchief or other items.

Color Ring Transposition:
A ring and string transposition where one color ring is released while the other penetrates onto the string.

Ear It Is:
Learn to make a pencil vanish, reappear, and then make your pad of paper vanish.

Morty Rudnick's Funny Force:
Force a number from 1 to 5 with this silly device.

Visible Penetration:
Make a die penetrate out of, and back into, a sealed jar.

The Color Changing Knives:
Learn Harlan's full routine for the color-changing knives with unexpected twists and a surprise ending. Plus, he will show you how you can make your own set.

The Uncanny Penetrating Rubber Bands:
Harlan shows you the trick which inspired his work with rubber band magic and gives you all the ins and outs, twists and variations on this influential piece of magic.

Impromptu Cigarettes from Midair:
A nifty cigarette production, updated to candles and a new presentation perfect for a birthday party theme.

Another Ribbon Penetration:
A truly puzzling penetration of a borrowed ring onto a ribbon, now with a steamlined method leaving everything examinable at the end.

Flip's Flipstick Silk & Wand:
Learn one of the finest manipulation moves ever invented.

Flip's Vanishing Glass:
A wine glass containing an egg vanishes from under a handkerchief only to reappear right behind you.

Again Dan is the Best of the Best of the Best Teacher Report this review

I am a drummer and have thought adding it to the magic but somehow it always flounders. But not after this lesson where Dan told a simple way to use a drum stick in Flipstick routine. Of course this should have came to my mind but naturally not. Thanks Dan.

Also I really must admire how clearly he shows everything taking care of all the camera angles and sharprness, which usually are forgotten in so many of magic videos. All the Tarbell videos I have seen are worth of money. In this video the rubber band penetration was shown so well that even I learned the trick. =) The way to use only one band was ingenious.

Some fun stuff Report this review

It's become the norm for me to just say the same thing: Dan is a creative genius and always comes up with interesting takes and subtleties on classic magic ideas

This has his rubber band work, flip stick handling, color changing knives... and much more. For some reason I really liked the simple idea he had for the ring, ribbon and bag effect.

Anyway, it's always fun and entertaining to watch one of Dan's lectures.

I have many of the Dan Harlan Tarbell Courses. This is among the best. Great bargain for the $8.00 I paid for it. Still a great bargain at the normal retail price.

Faithful to the Original Tarbell Report this review

I own the original Tarbel books Vol 1-7, and I can say that Dan Harlan and crew have done a good thing in presenting the lessons. Although they have made changes to some of the routines they have actually added new ideas and presentations. It was well worth the special offer for $9.95 per lesson. Keep up the good work!

Penetrating bands! Report this review

At last another rubber band lesson! Not only is the best rubber band trick included, including a standard move that Dan Harlan himself came up with, there are two more excellent rubber band tricks thrown in. You can't beat learning from the master.

Color changing knives and flipstick are other popular tricks included. These lessons go over more than just the basics, covering many effects you can achieve with the moves.

I like the ring and string trick too, and the vanishing glass trick is funny.
