Wow... this DVD set is OUTSTANDING! I cannot recommend this enough! If you are even the slightest
bit interested in hypnosis, then you really need to pick this up. This DVD set is not geared toward
hypnotists, but rather magicians and mentalists who want to add bits of hypnosis into their
performances.
I was a little nervous when I purchased this because I have not had any
previous experience with hypnosis. However, after watching all of the DVDs, designing a
presentation, and memorizing the script, I tried it out the very next day (I was a little ambitious
I know..) and the very first person I tried it on, it worked! I had legitimately hypnotized a
person! It's an extremely empowering and amazing feeling to be able to do this. Once you experience
this, you will know what I'm talking about.
I have tried it on other people too, and it
really does work. So if you are nervous about not being able to do the stuff on these DVDs, don't
be! Like I said before, I have not had any prior experience with hypnosis, yet I was still able to
do it very soon after watching the DVDs and rehearsing/memorizing the script and presentation.
As for the content of the DVD, Anthony Jacquin goes into extreme detail on everything. You will
not be left behind or confused. This is also an entertaining and interesting DVD set to watch.
This honestly has been one of the best magic/mentalism purchases I have ever made! It has opened
up a whole new world of possibilities, and I cannot wait to delve further into this new world of
hypnosis!

Now, I'll start off by saying that this is an absolutely amazing beginner's guide to hypnosis.
Anthony Jacquin breaks down the material for you, going into detail every step of the way, leaving
few to no questions.
After a week of this video, rewatching a few times to make sure I had
everything down, I did my first performance. I made a big mistake by slapping my subject on the
back, which wasn't taught in the DVD but I clearly wasn't thinking about it, I was just excited
about everything before hand going way too smoothly. After my next try, I actually hypnotized
somebody, and this is with The Manchurian Approach being my only source of information for hypnosis,
so overall I'm very happy with the DVD.
A major problem I have is the lack of foundation
this DVD installs. It'll teach you what you need to do in order to hypnotize somebody, but it won't
teach you why you do something or why/how it works. If you're like me, and enjoying breaking down
theories and studies to have a better grip on things, this will bother you, and inspire you to learn
more.
Not as big of a problem as lack of understanding, but most of the performance videos
just seemed awkward to watch. The settings didn't feel right, but if you can ignore that, they show
you exactly what is possible with hypnosis.
I gave The Manchurian Approach four stars
because of the lack of teaching a foundation of knowledge to understand exactly what hypnotism is
and how to do it. This DVD will keep you guessing on why/how it all comes together, but it's a good
way to learn how to get started. Excellent beginner's DVD, and because of the success I've had with
it, I would recommend it as a starting point.

It's an amazing step by step instruction video on exactly what you are going to do to approach a
group or a person and do a demonstration or hypnotize someone at a restaurant, party, or on the
street within minutes.
Shortcomings: Normally I am bored by theory and history. However,
in this case I would have liked some theory. As I said the DVD tells you exactly what you are going
to do but there is no in depth explanation on why. This allows you to follow and duplicate the
instructions but makes it tough to elaborate on them and you'll be learning as you go in some
situations.
That being said I had absolutely zero experience with hypnotism prior to this
DVD. Less than 2 weeks after I viewed it, on my first go out, I used the skills to etify myself,
select a subject and hypnotize a girl at a party. I could hardly believe it myself.
If you
have any interest in hypnotism you WILL order this Today!

Anthony Jacquin knows that you want the bare bones of hypnosis to add a different element to your
magic. This DVD set is awesome and will do just that. You can use hypnosis to covertly peek or force
and object. Read a spectators mind ...even bend coins. All is presented and taught in the 4 dvd set.
The description says 3 disc but they must have decided to add more material after the ad copy was
written. It is a great thing to have if you want to take your magic and mentalism to the next level.

I got this DVD set elswhere before I realize Penguin had it. I have to write a review for it here
though because It is beyond a great buy. With NO prior knoledge of hypnosis I was able to hypnotize
people within a couple weeks on my first try. The amount of information within this 4 Dvd Set is
huge, detailed, and easy to understand. Antony Jacquin is acompanied by Chris Harding, one of his
past students so all of Antony's expertise is slowed down by the questions of Chris to make sure
that the watcher understands everything. There are also demonstrations of every single thing that
is talked about either while they talk with Chris as a subject or a video of street hypnosis all
spread throught the video alongside the topic in question. I also want to say that the production
quality of this DVD set is above and beyond any other dvd that I have bought. It has smooth
transistions, multiple camera angles, and a wonderful set. If you have any interest in hypnosis at
all, buy this and you will be AMAZED at the ease with which you can perform it.

straight up professionalism! well worth the dollar and a lot of fun once mastered. while you have
your master of cards kid at the party, steal the show and be all," that was a cool trick, and yeah,
and, um... SLEEP!!!

Just finished watching the 4 DVDs and what can I say? Its mind blowing!! Forgot everything else
people, this is magic here. Once you have mastered all the techniques taught on these DVD's you will
be able to perform miracles, mixing hynotism with both mentalism and magic. Here's an example of
what you can do: you ask someone to think of a card and change their mind a few times until they
have decided on one card, without asking them what the card is you ask them to find it in your pack
of cards, it isn't there! you then ask them to look in their wallet and their card is there!! No
other way could you achieve this amazing feat of magic unless you know how to hypnotise someone.

All I can say is "WOW!" I had attended a few hypnosis shows in Las Vegas and I had seen a few
performers in school settings. I have also purchased many self-hypnosis CDs to help myself with self
improvement. This was the first DVD set I purchased actually showing me how to hypnotize people and
use this with my magic/mentalist routine. After watching the first DVD, I watched the first half of
the second DVD. I was at work and attempted to induce hypnosis on a co-worker. He reported he felt
"relaxed" and reported never feeling like this before. The second time I attempted to practice these
techniques was at a get together with friends. I induced hypnosis on a friend of mine and was able
to have her forget her name and have her "magnetic" hand stuck to her head. SHE ACTUALLY FORGOT HER
NAME!!! Wow! only on the second try! I highly recommend this DVD. GET IT NOW! It is the real deal!
Next on my list to get is the Trilby Connection. If only they would re-stock it!

The Manchurian Approach is by far the BEST purchase I have ever made from Penguin - or any other
magic site for that matter. At first I thought the instructions and demonstrations on the first two
dvds were a bit bare-bones (he offers little information as to WHY it works), but after working up
the courage to try it on someone (after practicing the routine to the mirror about 10 times) I was
amazed at how well the methods worked. This is not to be missed by ANYONE with an interest in
learning about and performing hypnotism within days of watching the dvds. Also, I learned from the
Manchurian Approach with no prior knowledge of hypnotism, so this is perfect for all skill levels!

I have always been curious about hypnosis and inductions but I could never find useful enough
material to get started. I decided to take the plunge with The Manchurian Approach and am very glad
that I did. You are not going to make spectators cluck like a chicken so don't think that gong in.
You will learn great subtleties and way of relaxing a person in order to get them to do what you
want them to do. This set will be one that I watch a few times to get all of the nuances down. Plus
it is very entertaining. I really wish that I had gotten this sooner.
