what a great book ... !
Full of humor and useful advice from a full time pro.
The book is easy to read, the advice reflects the experience of David Stone who writes about how to avoid stage fright, how to work at different venues, how to approach a table, how to find a stage persona, ...
For me, this book is an inspiration and motivation for my work as a (part time) professional magician in high class Restaurants and at company events. For me it was very funny to read (I can deal with the sometimes "rude" humor lines).
I highly recommend "Close Up - the real secrets of magic"

What a great surprise this book is. Well translated by Graham Jones who captures the humour and wit of David. No tricks, just great ideas and stories that will make you laugh. Great size book that you can throw in your bag to read while waiting around gigs.

In all honesty, I never bought this book from Penguin. I should have because it is cheaper on Penguin (They always have the best goods at the best price!)

This book has no tricks in it. It is pure theory and anyone who is serious enough to better themselves, their magic, themselves AND their magic will pick this book up. It is written is such an easy-to-read language and I found the introduction really got my juices flowing and revved me up for the rest of the book. David is funny,calls a spade, a spade, and has so much to offer... It's all in this book my friends. So get it. You won't regret it!
