If you're looking for a great effect, you'll get it...IF you have the "right" CD player. If not, be prepared to work at making one right. The original model used by Will seems to have magically disappeared, making this "kit" worthless unless a suitable replacement is found. This should have been made clear, as the original CD player model seems to have been discontinued before the release of this kit.

In fairness, the kit includes a special something that can be customized, but care and precision is required, along with a suitable player that can accommodate the work. Unless that is acceptable to you, be prepared to attend a lot of yard sales.

read all of these reviews and youll find something unanimous and common about all of them. if you're going to make a trick that utilizes gimmicks why would you make them for something that you cant find anymore?? the ones that are provided(one of which is already perfectly suited for something that doesn't exist )why would you have two...ahem...just one. you have to do some very very careful prepping. that means if you mess up, like say, it slides while your cutting it, you're sol. at least provide 2-4gimmicks or include where to find more. also the routines are terrible. you already have to be in the "know" for them. he rushes through with no examples or footage.

While the trick itself is dazzling, and the materials necessary for creating the gimmick are included and seemingly sufficient, the video taped instructions are far from clear. Secondly, the tape player used in the construction of this effect are no longer available and another machine needs to be used. This complicates making the gimmick immensely. Parts of the construction instructions are so vague that it is quite easy to mess up building this gimmick and destroying the supplied material, obviating future application to a different machine. A printed sheet showing positioning of the necessary elements would have been helpful. At one point in the video, it says that in order to help make the gimmick, one needs an item but never says why you need it and never shows it again. This is an example of the overall quality of these instructions.
The magic created by this trick is surely a killer, but if you can afford it, buy the complete trick when it is again available, Don't take a chance on wasting on this. It is easy to see why it costs as much as it does and why it is now unavailable. Don't be fooled into thinking that you can use any tape player. They are all different. And if you mess up one little step, you have wasted your money. The instructions won't help make use of the supplied materials.

Ok people, I understand that you need a certain dvd player and whatever and that Will never explains it in the dvd BUT in the video of the trick in your "MyPenguinMagic" section shows you exactly what dvd player you need. This is a very amazing trick if used correctly. I do WARN that you will need to buy other things for this trick, but it is a good one that I plan to use for stage.

For some time now I am buying almost all my Magic at Penguin and never was disappointed until now, this is the worst instruction DVD ever. (The illusion is great if you can get it to work) There is no explanation or follow up most of the time, the gimmick is for a Cd player you can’t find anymore, there is no other models recommended and why does he use 3 different types of glue (double sided tape, Super glue, and Contact Cement)? Instead of showing you the routine he has two guys doing a commercial for him. If you use a different player you can’t buy it from E Bay since you don’t know if it has enough room. It would help if he would say: if you can put 3 Cd in the player and still close the lid it will work etc. but no explanation is given. If you use the other gimmick make sure you cut a sample from a sheet of plastic and when it fits cut the one provided. I bought it on the 5 for $99.00 so I won’t return it. Unless he comes up with some suggestions on his web site I will NEVER buy anything from him again.

This is a wonderful illusion. People make es complaints about not finding a player and I can't believe it! Haven't you hared of E bay or Amazon? Forget the bad reviews this illusion is amazing. Buy it and you won't regret it. It's reputation maker and it's self working! You only have to focus on presentation. Add to cart!

I don't know why all the bad reviews this is an amazing effect! If I think the effect is worth it then I will go through the trouble to find the material and believe me this is worth it. I guess the other reviews from lazy people. Take the time to find what you need and make what you need it's worth it in the end. I almost didn't buy this effect based on the reviews, but I'm very satisfied with this purchase. This is a grand illusion you'll have once you make it.

With the right CD player, this is gold. Without it, it is impossible. Therefore, before purchasing this, go to stores like Walmart and check out the CD players. The one I found is called CD/Radio/Boombox by GPX. However, there were others that had different names but looked almost identical. The secret is to tape together 5 CD's and bring them into the store. Use them as a measurement guide. Use the display model or open the CD player box and see if there is space for the CD’s to fit into the TOP of the lid that opens the CD compartment. This is crucial. It must, I believe, be a top loading unit with space in the lid. Some have no space. Others do. If you find one with space (about $25 or $30) it should work. I used this at an annual holiday party where I perform each year. You can make your predictions ahead of time or at the event, even though you have sent an envelope with you predictions at least two weeks in advance to whomever is in charge. People were amazed and kept commenting on how it was impossible. I always tell them that what I do IS impossible. Great effect. PS - Since the CD player is only about $25, why not charge more and include it?
