I really love this effect, but the book is falling apart within the first few minutes of handling
it!

Vincent Hedan raises the bar with both his card work and his mentalism. He uses tried & true methods
and expands on them to deliver quality presentations & effects. Haiku is a beautiful little piece of
mentalism from packaging to presentation and is money well spent. The instructions a very clear and
concise and the over all effect of a drawing a spectators thought changes the normal pace of a
standard "book test" wonderfully. As a working mentalist. I highly recommend Haiku and anything else
that Vincent has to offer.

ok. if you're a mentalist or a magician that incorporates mentalism in you repetoire then this
should be a have. the method: so easy and smooth. it works off something people do anyways. beware
though. as you know from performing in the real world there are a few a**holes that'll do anything
to throw you regardless if they're trying to or not.certain mentalsit effects require a certain
something that i'm not willing to do(stooge, gimmicks, devices, peek, basically, shady stuff), this
doesn't. all you man.
ayo, this is an elegant piece. it comes with a booklet small enough
to fit in your pocket allowing you to also carry your other props. the booklet is as beautifully
designed as ghost cards. everywhere else ive searched sells this effect for 45 or 50 dollars.
penguin; 33!! this is practical magic here ya'll go with this one. ive done this already(1st day, no
lie) for 6people and everyone one of them was blown away. word.

Pros:
1. Very beautiful concept. Makes a book test into something beautiful by capturing
an imagined moment.
2. You may make it as personal as you’d like with the drawing
3.
Method is super easy to learn and is completely foolproof. You’ll learn it quickly and be able to
customize your presentation
4. Fits in your pocket so it’s great to carry.
Cons:
1. While it has haiku in both Japanese and English, the method does not allow it to work with
the Japanese only. This is disappointing to me as I work at Japan Society and wanted the trick so I
could have some mentalism that would overcome the language barrier.
2. For me, this isn’t
relevant, but maybe for you: this could be a hard trick to contextualize. I do two other poetry book
tests and I work in Japanese fine dining in NYC so having a haiku book isn’t that weird. Your
mileage may vary because once the trick is performed, the book can no longer be examined.
Summary: despite the language con, I am very happy with Haiku. The method is brilliant. There
truly is a free choice. It fits in a pocket, the payload can be as beautiful as you are able to
draw, I’ve performed Haiku about 50-60 times now and it kills every time. I’m a little worried that
the book is starting to get destroyed by riding around in my pocket all the time, but it also makes
it more believable that it’s my own book.
If you hate book tests, this is a book test you
will like. And penguin price is 10 bucks cheaper than elsewhere.
The trick uses a very old principle.
Also the "booklet" you get is cheaply produced and does not
fit well with the story of ancient japanese poems.
The instructions are not good, also too
few.
