I'm in agreement with the other reviews that Greg Wilson's Ring Leader is a must-have in your
arsenal if you're the least bit dedicated to improptu ring & string close-up, but I believe you can
never go wrong by watching another professional's take on a classic and I feel Diamond Jim Tyler
delivers in his own right. Wilson's style is very BANG-BANG-BANG where Tyler's is a bit more laid
back as he shows you how to lead your audience down the garden path before blindsiding them over and
over again. My only crit is that the so-called gimmicks that come with the DVD are common items you
can buy at any fabric or craft supply store for a couple bucks... nevertheless this is a fun DVD and
worth the price for a startup and a complete package, but don't forget Greg Wilson later...

Seeing Diamond Jim do his ring and string routine in full circle is just a treat.
In this DVD
package, you are given 2 envelopes (ungimmicked) for the Collateral effect and 2 leather ropes for
the Ring and String Routine.
The DVD teaches the Ring and String Routine, and the Collateral
effect.
Will I perform Diamond Jim's whole routine? No. Will I be taking bits and pieces of his
routine? Yes. The Collateral effect is a great idea that I will use.
Highly recommended IF you
don't have a solid Ring & String routine yet.

I can't believe there is a reviewer who left ONE STAR for this!!!
That's just a very petty thing
to go just because you enjoy another magician's routine. Anyway, I have this and it's great. Comes
with all the props except for the ring. You can pick this up very quickly. I never did rope or
string magic and picked it up in one day. Each phase is very strong and builds. The ending is just
awesome as the spectators ring that was used the entire time is now in the envelope they have been
holding the entire time. It's a worker too, instant reset. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Oh and CRYSTAL CLEAR
TEACHING.

The first magician I ever saw perform this classic effect was veteran professional magician Diamond
Jim Tyler in a video clip shot in the Close-Up Gallery at the Magic 🪄 Castle back in the late 90s. I
was very heavily inspired and immediately purchased his manuscript and book entitled Pockets Full of
Miracles (which truly is). He quickly became one of my favorite magicians needless to say. What I
loved the most is Jim’s light hearted approach and presentation, the modularity of the phases and
the simplicity in plot. It has remained a main staple in my close-up repertoire ever since.
Collateral takes his award winning routine to a new level by creating a paradox in time in the minds
of the spectators.
This trick is just very good. A good ring on string routine which has good phases but there will be
some phases you wont do becuase of how corny it is. Another negative has to do with the fact that
Diamond at times goes over to fast in the dvd. He should have slowed down but whatever. But overall
good trick to have and its easy to do and it blows people away.
Jim Tyler has shared a very practical and well-taught effect. The DVD is clearly presented and all
the moves he teaches are natural and easy to learn. The beauty of this routine is that it has many
phases which build as you go.
WTH!!! BUY RING LEADER BY GREG WILSON INSTEAD!!!! Its way cooler! and came out first! Also Greg is a
hilarious amazing teacher!
