To start with, the book could have been written with half of the pages. Seems like alot of paper
when only half of each page is used for printing. More like a pamphlet-size info printed onto 8.5 x
11 pages. A few grammar, spelling, and omitted words as well.
The routine ideas are
interesting, though there is no real instruction for incorporating them in your act. That, of
course, is left to the performer/reader to work out for his own act (as it should be). The
performance pictures could be clearer, but are adequate, and the explanations are good.
Very good suggestions on transporting to shows, as well as on and off stage handling and
overall care. Author gives good references for manufacturers of all props (bottles, table, trays,
etc.) and advice on performance success.
Overall, worth the money. I will probably
supplement with the dvd in the future. I recommend this book. Penguin was extremely helpful with
my order and questions, as usual.
