I imagine this will work and it'll be good, but after receiving it, it's not something I will spend
a lot of time on, but rather file in a drawer and go on to something else. The reason for that is
because this must continually be re-purchased to continue to perform, ie refills. That increases the
cost of this and decreases the availability, convenience and independence of this effect. I think
I'll just go to a no-tear newspaper effect and do some other prediction that I can use over and over
again.. thx.

What's not to like? This is an engaging trick with room to add your own jokes (or hey, just borrow
Martin's if you like), a topical presentation hook, and a method that erases several problems with
other solutions to the effect.
The spectator herself chooses which piece she wants and then
a headline "on either side of that piece" (or so it is perceived by the audience). This freedom
erases several solutions that might come to a spectator's mind.
Also, you don't have to do
any math during the ripping, as in Koran's original method and variations.
In exchange for
this freedom and cleanliness, you need the specially printed pages that come with the effect.
However, they're perfect replicas of National Enquirer pages and not expensive per show. In my view,
well worth it for a very strong effect.

This is perfect Martin Lewis creativity: take a traditional trick (like a headline prediction) and
remove all the complications and unnecessary effort, making the trick easier to accomplish and just
as good--if not better than--the original effect.
You'll destroy one of the specially
printed pages at each show, but you'll also destroy your audience. And isn't that what we're all
shooting for?
If you're planning to do table-hopping mentalism, this one probably isn't for
you. But if you want an effect that requires very little set-up and completely fools an audience
(while also being very entertaining), perfect for platform or stage, this one will do it.

This effect is wonderful and logical update of a classic effect by Al Koran. It gets lots of laughs
and it has a killer ending. Martin Lewis has done it again with 'Stop The Press.' I will continue
performing this until they stop making the gimmick.
