The nested box effect is a well-known classic to magicians, but spectators will still be amazed.
This version is a very economical way to perform the effect. The set is large enough to appear
substantial but small enough to travel with. The quality is "enough," meaning it doesn't look bad
but it's clearly not going to win a woodworking award. That's fine, because the more ordinary it
looks the better in terms of avoiding suspicion.
This effect requires no technique at all
to load or present an item in the box. However, you will need to supply your own way of vanishing
whatever you want to put in the box using sleight of hand, a vanish device, or otherwise. You also
need to supply your own lock if you want to use a lock (the useless ones that come on suitcases are
perfect), but the lock isn't really essential if you don't feel like using it.

Good quality, easy to use and really decent price.

This is exactly what you expect. Easy load, easy use. You will need to buy a luggage lock. The
performance always gets the “WOW!” and “HOW?” effect.
I recently got this on advice from penguin as a substitute for a trick box that is out of stock. I
was surprised that it was so cheap and yet would do what I wanted. I wish I’d done more research on
it before purchase (I hadn’t seen this one before). This trick is super obvious from many angles.
This is OK if the box is out of view before the load, but that kinda defeats the purpose. However,
it is cheap and relatively well built. If this is all you can afford, by all means get it. You
will need to come up with a good routine around it to avoid tipping the audience to the general
method. If you’re experienced but poor, this would be a great little box. If you’re a pro, I’d
give it a miss as there are better boxes out there that do more with less obvious methods. If
you’re creative, get a book or DVD on building these kind of boxes for yourself. This is really a
beginner-priced trick that needs at least intermediate level patter and audience management.
The boxes were better than I expected, specifically the metal embellishments impressed me. They not
only look nice but some have a use like the handle to help pull the nested box from its tight fit
within the other box. The secret loading works great and is well hidden.
Some of the finish
on the wood is a bit thick with a few drip lines however it doesn't really doesn't detract from the
boxes since the drips are quite minor. If it bugs a person or if someones box has more drip lines
than mine does it's an easy fix too so again not a huge deal to me.
The size of both boxes
together doesn't lend to walkaround but parlor or stage is fine. Even the smaller box seems to big
for walkaround ...but maybe someone has bigger pockets than me. Easy reset but needs to be private.
If you are looking to add an item to impossible location to your routine this item is
fantastically priced for what you get.
