I bought these many, many years ago in the magic shop I worked at. They were my first "real" set
after the well known aluminum set many of us buy. They are not plated, they are fully copper. One
thing to note is that the balls included are the best of all crocheted balls I've seen in a set. A
downside is three don't easily fit on top of a cup. Often two don't, either. These cups are very
tall and narrow (They easily fit inside a Legend Cup & Ball set, if not for the half inch or so
height difference). This may be a positive attribute, as they're easy to handle and make certain
moves much easier. The downside is they don't accommodate a large final load. A tennis ball won't
fit, for example. (I use sponge balls, so this was not a major issue for me, as the ones I use fit
perfect).
The quality is excellent for the price and they will last for many, many years as
they have for me in countless shows.
While I've purchased other sets, these still have a place
in many of my performances.
If you're looking at purchasing a quality set of cups & balls, you
can't go wrong with them.
unfortunately, i didnt by these from penguin. (Sorry Penguin) i got them from another shop when i
was on vacation. at first it was a little difficult getting the "moves" down pat, but then
eventually i got to the point where i have no problem doing anything. then once i took to the
street i found that these cups are not only attension getting, but also very rugged. they will last
you a long time given that you treat them well. a little word of advise though... when the copper
begins to tarnish, leave it on, it gives the crowd a good vibe that you have been doing this for a
whyle, so they might stick around longer than they intend to.
This is a great set of cups. The look, feel and weight are great. They are nice and solid, so they
will last quite a while, as long as you're not doing anything really stupid with them.
The
balls are not bad, they are easy to handle, but they are a little large for me and my awkward hands.
But probably are good for most people.
This is a set I definitely don't regret putting a
little extra money into.
I bought these cups and balls along with Gazzo's DVD and book. They are medium sized which is great
for my smaller hands and for learning with. They are very well made and I can tell they will last a
lifetime.
The balls are covered in yarn which make them a bit easier to handle but I am
in search of something else. I suppose the good news is, the balls don't bounce, or roll easily.
Overall a great buy
