I bought this book w/o the wallet, so I can't speak to the value of having both together.
As a stand-alone book, I mistakenly thought this would contain more of an in-depth treatment of
the z-fold concept. Instead it is a very slim pamphlet of six effects - most of which you'll need
additional gaff cards (not supplied).
The effects themselves are ok, but aren't really
exclusive to a z-fold device. They could be performed with any type of switching wallet.
The ad copy isn't really misleading - you just need to read it closely. When I read the subtitle
"How I Leaved to Lose My Fear of the Z-Fold Wallet", I thought this was going to be more theory than
just tricks. The rest of the copy says it clearly - "a collection of 6 tricks."
Buying the
book and wallet together may be good deal, but as a stand-alone book this is overpriced and
underwhelming.
Z wallet is a nice, unassuming utility device. All the routines are doable and easy. In the laymen's
eyes, these tricks will be a guaranteed surprise. Nonsleight, so you can concentrate on your
performance. The booklet is good start to develop your own ideas. If I were to do it again, I'd
order the Z wallet and booklet package.
