The first thing I thought when I saw this at a convention was that it was a great idea but I could
just make it myself. There are two reasons why you shouldn't do that. First, you should pay
creators who thought of things you didn't think of first. Second, the handle on the paddle is
shaped, textured, and attached in a way that would be difficult to replicate with your own LEGOs, at
least without making the paddle way too thick.
This is a well-made product, and you can
swap the force color with the red, blue, and green squares provided.
I performed Baffling
Blocks at a birthday party for 7 year-olds and it went over well. My only hesitation is that each
color square is much larger than a typical Hot Rod jewel or dot, and as a result it's very difficult
to avoid some flash during the move. This is even visible in the instructional video, and you'll
see it in the mirror when you practice.
For young kids, this is a great alternative to the
traditional "prop-looking" hot rod.
