Opening effects need to grab the audienc’s attention in a relatively short period of time and make
an impact. A strong start can set the tone for your entire show. 3D Advertising checks off all the
right boxes for an opener. It’s quick, colorful, easy to understand and catches the viewer by
surprise.
Better yet, it’s easy to perform, which means your focus and attention can be
spent on your presentation. It’s well made and no arts and crafts are required, which makes it a
winner in my book.
When certain Penguin magicians present and teach an effect, I know that
the trick is going to be well made and learning will be easy. One of these special Performers is
Dan Harlan. He takes a vested interest in whatever he is demonstrating and always goes the extra
mile, by adding additional routining. I have never been disappointed with a Dan Harlan sales pitch.
Even when he’s interviewing the creator of an effect, he will be honest with his comments.
If an effect claims to be self working and that’s not completely true, he will be specific with his
critics. Dan’s either a really good actor or his love for Magis is genuine. I believe the latter.
3D Advertising is in my A act.
