I respect and admire magicians who constantly work hours coming up with effects to present to the
magic world. That doesn't necessarily mean that I like them. After buying "Facelifter" and "Pocket
Sawing-In-Half", I gave up on Andrew Mayne. In "Pocket Sawing-In-Half", your pockets don't even
have anything to do with the effect so I have no idea why that's even in the title. Maybe he meant
that the gimmick is small enough to fit in the pocket. That's what I thought. I was wrong. His
instruction booklet is filled with detailed and well explained instructions along with tips and a
few extras but has his effects ever been audience tested? I saw "ShockFX" and that was great
because I saw each effect in action but as for his other ones, I won't even sleep on it. Sure the
cost to build the gimmick is cheap...VERY cheap, but the illusion just doesn't say "WOW". Andrew
Mayne has a very creative mind but once you learn the secret, it doesn't seem all that appealing
anymore.
