You may not do a single effect from this act, but you should get it. The only other lecture that is
David Williamson's. Both of these guys are so good at their craft that you'd be a fool not to study
their acts or even just watch them perform.
Curtis shares where he acquired his props,
alternatives to them, and how they're set up and staged before the show. All of the effects are
attainable; however, the coin work is technical and deliberate effort will be needed. The Okito box
and rainmaker routines are exceptional.
The choreography of the Puka stick/Slippery Rocks
is not unique. The patter is though. You will not be able to copy his patter; however, it will spark
some creative ideas.
The torn & restored cigarette paper shows the strength of a straight
forward effect with a great story.
Shuffleboard is scaled up with a larger prediction and
a shuffle which can be seen from the back of the room, but is the same otherwise.
Curtis
does a great job crediting and referencing sources.
