Bought it directly from Joao but i am a frequent Penguin customer and would like to rate it.
The retention of vision is great, what you see in the trailer is possible.
But
1. You need to decide which card you would like to use.
For the price asked they should
have included another gimmick so you can use a playing card and the blank card.
2. It makes
a unnecessary clapping noise which could have been easily muted with some further thought and
materials.
4. The Box looks a bit suspicious because it is not clear on all sides and that
might give something away.
5. It feels like the V1 Boxes got “recycled“ with it.
I totally agree with you.
I know it's not much, but on the secret Facebook group page associated with this effect. I posted a video to teach others not only so better alt Handlings but also how to mod the gimmick so you're not stuck with the one gimmick choice. Also, some of us on the page found out that putting a strip of velvet on the inside that is about 4mm thin and as long as the inside of the box, softens the sound. I've also discovered how to cheaply (meaning cheaper then you'd pay for one gimmick) make more of the mechanical gimmicks, but won't post that video to the page (For obvious reasons)
A tip to those frustrated with the "only one card" option. Use rubber cement to adhere the card to backing. Also purchase "The Bullet" fpr that [erfect mercury fold.
